My New Best Friend

got it off eBay :)
Its imported right... if it is, what differences does it have from the ones that will be released in NA in.. march?

I want to import a psp but decided to hold off and hpefully some of the problems will be fixed when it comes to Canada.

Hopefully being the key word.

I was holding off buying one because i'd heard of the 'issues' ... but now i've got one and played around with it, I can't find the issues at all! ... i've forced the thing to try and get the UMD to eject without me pressing the eject button, but it just aint happening. Maybe some people got defective models.

I'm just waiting for the firmware update to give me web and email access, to make the thing perfect.

I'm not sure what differences there will be to the ones released in NA ... all I do know is that this one is Region 0 (plays everything from everywhere) ... maybe the american ones will be restricted.

The only problem I had with getting an imported is that I had to figure out how to change the default Japanese operating system into English ... not so easy if you don't understand japanese. Trial and error solved that one though :)

I asked my dad if it was okay if he imported one for my birthday on januart 25th and he said that it was fine but im still no sure because what will happen if I get a defective model. I cant warrenty it or something like that.

Oh and is the screen scratch resistant because I have heard somepeople say it is. (I dont want to to test it but just wondering if it says in the manual or something)

Oh and that doom screenshot looks wicked to bad you cant actually play that on the PSP because that would be a wicked game just to pull out on the bus after a rough day at school.

I got a friend who nows some japanese so changing the languages shouldnt be a problem, Oh and if I import a game also will I be able to change the language or will it only be in japanese? If its to much trouble I think I will wait till march

I envy you lePobz. I want one of those babies so damn bad. But, you see, I can wait. This'll be the first handheld I bought in 4 years.

Well done to blackeye for pointing out that Doom3 is not actually playable on the PSP... although it does make an excellent pivture viewer / slideshow ;)

Hmmmm, I was going to order one a couple of days ago but pulled back. It would have cost me like £310 for the psp, memory card all the other stuff and 2 games, ridge racer and armored core. Do you really think I should spend this much? I have been iffy iffy all over the place and its doing my head in, after looking at yours I am like :O :O :O :O

Also LeProbz you don't even need to wait until your friend goes Hong Kong just go to:

http://www.play-asia.com/

Its the ultimate import website.

It would be so cool to play doom 3 on a handheld system that would do it justice. I wonder how many people you could trick into thinking you where playing doom 3 on the PSP if you played back a video

Wow I just found out you can by portable battery packs for the PSP if it ever runs out of batteries.

wow.. that thing looks beautiful (the graphics). I never thought I would get a handheld but this thing is just a work of beauty..

I AM BUYING ONE AS SOON AS IT COMES OUT. Like wow, Im gettin NFS:U for PSP and whatever oher games tickle my fancy.

Scroll down to point number 22....

If you're talking about raw power, the PSP wins in that category. In fact, the PSP is argueably slightly more powerful than the PlayStation 2, which may seem shocking, but it is almost five years old. However, it does not look better than PS2 games, probably most likely due to the smaller LCD screen (compared to a regular TV with progressive scan) and other factors.

You should see the GT4 Mobile in-game video, the graphics are unbelievably awesome... although that's not released till Spring ;(

Ichi - thanks for the link .... and what are you waiting for, get one bought!!! You'll make everyone jealous :D
