All the parts finally came today, as you could probably imagine my excitement. Everything came awesomely -- no dents, no wrecked parts, no gashes/scratches. Well, on to the pics.

This is all of the stuff together... pretty awesome collection, if I don't say so myself... :D

Here's the XFX 7800GT 256MB graphics card. Pretty awesome package -- you get all the nessesary cables and then some, a bunch of games (Farcry the only one being mentionable) and, while the box doesn't matter, the box is really nice... :p Btw, MadTV is on the TV... :D :D :D :D :D

ASPIRE X-CRUISE Black Case. Wow, I was surprised by this. It was $65 for the case alone but this case is such high-quality. It's so sexy, in real life -- it's so amasing. You know the mirror coating on the Tsunami? This has it too.

I'm assembling it right now, but I have a question:

If there's 4 fans spots (2 90mm in the front, 1 90mm on the top, 120mm on the back), which way should I position the fans? The back and the top pushing air out and the two front pulling air in? Or the top and 2 front pulling air in and the back pushing out?

The back top pulling air out of the case... the bottom front should be sucking air into the case. And i dont have any fans on top but i'd say have it sucking air out of the case seeing as heat rises...

Awesome computer by the way!

That's what I'm doing... :D ...thanks.

But I'm having the hardest time installing the front fans. Is there some special trick to it since there's no "other side" to it? Do I just install the screws in crooked?
Nevermind, I read the PDF and you can take the front off. :p

you have the same cpu/mobo/ram combination as me, although my geil is only 1gb

I wish I had a rig like that

QFT!

I want to get me one of those!

I wouldent have chose that case though :upstare:

Update: got all fans in, seated the motherboard and screwed it in, installed the CPU and heatsink/fan, just putting in the video card.

:D

Your almost at the best part! Formatting and install all the drivers. Stupid loading bars drive me nuts after hours of installing windows, drivers and applications. It also drives you crazy as you cant use the PC for a while even though you really want to.

sweet...same processor I just ordered a few hours ago

I might be screwed, guys. I see no SATA connecters here. ****.

horrible mate! were they part of the package? ;(

Ahh, I didn't look hard enough the first time... they came with the motherboard. "They" meaning 8 SATAS cable. Heh.

>_>

Update: ALMOST done... pesky little Reset and Power cables to plug in. What a bitch.
One problem is that this case has 3 gauges... but I've ran out of connectors. Heh.

Done!

I'm on the new system now. Although, Windows says I've used my key too much... wtf? Guess I'll have to call 'em. Lemme install BF2 and... (I've waited a long time for this...) WHO'S UP FOR A GAME OF BF2?!

Wow, in BF2, I can play with Max settings and AA/AF at full at 90 FPS.
Also, with my SATA HDD, I load a map in 10sec.

:D

man if i could play i would...but i cant...because i dont have a great internet connection atm... ;(

Maybe once my new processor comes and Im done reformatting...as of now I cant handle the >5 minute loading times and constant lag/slowdown

NIce pc dude almost as good as mine... Ohh wait it is better than mine. I dislike you. :)

Oh my. Forgot to say congratulations on the sweet build you got there. :D!

Some finished pictures of this here computer would be nice! Wooooooo

Yes more pics!

And uh...hows the monitor? I like the look of it...

Oh, yeah, I've had 'em here... I guess it just slipped my mind to post 'em.

Sorry about the quality and darkness of it. This camera doesn't take very non-flash pictures. Yes, I need wire-managment.

About the monitor, it's really nice... bright and colorful. Even though there's a tiny 8ms response time, I can notice a tiny bit of ghosting, but it's not too noticable about an hour. I actually kind of like it, adds a bit of motion blur. Overall, it's really nice and well worth the money. Also, it's really huge compared to my 17" CRT.

hehe nice pics.
At least the wires coming out the back of the box don't need wire management.

Yeah, it would help if your camera had flash in those shots. =p
Helps focus too. :D

I say, HOWS TEH MONITOR, QONFUSED!?

(image quality-wise)

Hmmm, you've had them you say? I can see my post in those pictures. ;)

Looks really good!

nice wiring sinkoman, I really need to get something done about mine, havent had a chance to sort mine since I got my new componants. Wanna get a new case though.

I should post pics of the inside of my pc sometime. Combines the tidyness of sinkoman's pc with self done cable braiding on just about all cables, with a touch of lighting.

:)

Edit: There we go, not the best pic (i'm not the greatest photographer, plus the camera isn't all that great) but it'll have to do

Hmm, was going back over your pics Qone, and I couldn't help but notice the guitar :)

Just noticed the way you setup your hsf. Is that fan blowing air through the heatsink or is it pulling the air through it? Btw like the look of your case, i'm thinking of either getting one of those or an antec p180 but they look like its pretty hard to wire them decently.

EDIT: I have the same heatsink as you and i have mine blowing air through it so it goes out the back of the case through the rear fan

At present my hsf is setup in a retarded manner

:)

You have the amd64 version which sits in a different orientation, the p4 mounts with the fan either at the top or the bottom i believe, whilst the amd64 version mounts with the fan on either side (in my view the better design).

I should however change my setup slightly, as the fan is blowing air downwards through the fins, which is rather opposing to the fan sucking air into the psu. I didn't think about it at the time. Ideally i would change it to either suck air upwards through the fins and then into the pse and out, or put the fan on the bottom, blowing air upwards. But the hsf was a hastily fitted fix to get my computer back up and running after my third water-cooling pump broke and i chucked the water-cooling (to return to a pc at a later date when i have the money/patience).

The case is brilliant by the way, i highly reccomend it. I liked the look of the antec P180, and was considering one for my new rig, but i have heard many complaints from owners concerning flimsy front doors, bad placement of the fan in the bottom compartment leading to psu wires getting tangled in the fan, therefore rendering it useless etc. Plus the air intake for the graphics card can get in the way of a large card, especially if you fit the optional fan. Although custompc loved it, but it seems they may have overlooked these issues. I'm not saying don't get it, but do plenty of research and build your own opinion before you buy one.

:)

:D Nice guitar.

I wish I had the equipment/space to tidy up my wires... D:

It's a nice power supply. It's quite heavy, too. It's got a dual fan system going on but only one's on all the time. I'm not sure wether the other one is broken or it's not needed.

Q_onfused = BF2 screenname.
qonfused = Xfire screenname if you wanna add meh.

I'm selling it to a cousin. But I'm now wound up in a bind with the windows copy, but I think I'm gonna warez it.
