My Friends new toy! PS3 (pics)

So its finally here !! I found some change under my bed and decided to buy a ps3 woot, were playing resistance fall of man right pretty cool game but doesnt beat GOW.

congratulations but man, the ps3 is one of the worst designed consoles (as in, the case, etc).
 
I can't help but congratulate you, especially when EP2 comes out for PS3. I don't mind the case, but can you answer a question I have? Did they REALLY remove the vibration function from the PS3? Because if so, that was a damn stupid mistake!

Oh right, so they can even make more of a killing on aftermarket dualshock controllers.

Hmm, I'd like one too....but it just makes no sense to me with the severe lack of games actually worth paying $60 for. Oh well--it'll come in handy when those games do drop!! Enjoy!!!

If you think of it logically, it is just like buying an Xbox 360 and the HD-DVD adapter.

I shall congratulate for the purchase. I will, however, say that since the 360 and PS3 have nearly identical games coming out, there is no reason to purchase it over the 360.

Whoa--that's way off. The PS3 has arguably the stronger exclusives by a fairly large margin (esp. since 360 overlaps with PC more than anything else), so like I said, this will be great for Alan at the end of the year, for instance....

Even the strength of PS3 exclusives is arguable if you take the fact that the Xbox + PC game overlap is due to Microsoft's Games for Windows as well as their integration of Xbox Live with other services. So by the same token, the strength of the Xbox line up is not any weaker due to the same titles being on the pc.

edit: in fact, having 360 games on pc PROMOTES gaming to a further degree than just the PS3 having great first party titles.

Like what? Besides for MGS4 and Devil May Cry 4, I don't see any other huge app sellers coming out.

I know there are some that I am missing, but for me, I have never played either games I just said so it is invalid.
 
Can I have the change under your pillow?
 
lol at the comments , i was kidding when i said i baught it . A friend baught it and came over we hooked it up and played and suprisingly it was pretty darn cool . I cant afford the ps3 right now maybe in in 6 months when some real games come out.

It's not those games so much as the ones that come from the teams behind Katamari Damacy, God of War, and Shadow of the Colossus that interest me.

Just imagine Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 with SIXAXIS support. The idea alone makes me giddy.

And I don't even want to start on the possibilities for more innovative games like Katamari Damacy and Loco Roco. The future is bright.
 
Does it come with 2 controllers out of the box or did you purchase a second one separately?

Shamrock: Yea sure it's like buying an Xbox360 w/ HD-DVD, but the thing is is that with the Xbox we have a choice if we want it or not.

Obviously with that choice comes the penalty we won't be able to use it for games. I could honestly care less about disc changing if it's done smart like in Final Fantasy games.
 
I have a PS3 as well. I just play alot of PS2 games on it right now. But the sound is much better than the 360 (if you have a decent reciever). The sample rate is much higher so the sound is clearer, more defined and surround sound is much better. Also if you play resistance with a surround sound setup, you will hear things that you never thought you would hear from a game system. Very awesome stuff....patience is the key with this thing. It will get better. Then most of the people who put it down will eat their words. Here is a list of games that will draw people to the system:

Metal gear 4
God of war 3
Devil may cry 4
Burnout 5
Black 2
FF XIII
Oblivion (Because it runs so much better on the PS3 than the 360...read the article on IGN if you don't believe me..I'll post the link below the list)
Lair
Silent hill 5
Heavenly Sword

There is the article on Oblivion for the PS3.

I predict by the end of this year, the PS3 will start to overtake the Xbox 360, in terms of graphics, games and capability.

It's only a matter of time. (and no I am not a sony fanboy, I just happen to realise the potential of the system..and the potential is very good...but in the end it's all up to the developers.)

Which compared to the PC version (with mods) is also bollocks.

EDIT: Although the screenys are pretty.

My baby should arrive in about 20 days, hopefully one day earlier but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Ah! Katamari Damacy would be amazing with the SIXAXIS. I loved that game.

Getting to God of War and Shadow of the Colossus, there is a great possibility they will release both games to both systems. With the way the PS3 is going now, the developers might think it wise to choose the 360 way as well. Of course, once these games do get released, it will boost PS3 sales tenfold.
 
Am I the only one that find it annoying that this **** has to actually show off to the rest of the world that he bought an overpriced gaming machine? This guy has always seemed like a bragster to me, I hope his house burns down, without anyone being injured in the fire, if you don't count material losses! Now THAT would be funny to see him post about.:)
