I can't yet be sure, but I have a feeling that we'll be in for a treat come Friday (or whenever the heck the new 'media' is released). We were told that a high-quality version of the E3 demo we're all familiar with will be released, but we were also told that we could expect 'new media' this week as well, which was mentioned around a week ago. My guess is that they've been delaying the E3 high-quality version of what we're familiar with for a reason - they want to release a 'bunch' of media, all together, and that's what's taking time.

Perhaps at first they wanted to release to high-quality E3 demo first, and then newer E3 (or totally new [?!]) media later on...but the delay could instead be because the new media being put together takes time and they want to release it all together.

Oh well - we'll see when the movie(s) comes out...

Well, I'm willing to wait for as long as it takes. I actually wouldn't care if they didn't release any new media before the game comes out, so if this new stuff is delayed, no biggie.

I find it funny that so many people are being so anal about it, as if it was the focus of Valve's every waking moment to deliver new HL2 media to your sorry faces. I'd rather they were working on the game than making some new video to watch. I guess it's just a fact of life, or rather, a fact of forums... that idiots will always have something idiotic to say in the most idiotic way. This isn't aimed at you though, Risiko... I more ranting about all the people I've seen all over at many different forums who are complaining about delayed content.

I suppose people just don't understand the life of a game designer, and think they just have all day to make promo videos for their game.

I think they shouldn't have announced that they will release this media at all, until the day they released it.

The media is a test..
that's why they want to kill all the bugs in steam before they release it.. and that's why it take time.. :(

lol...your right, they shouldnt off said anything until its ready too be released! :D, it saves us all the anger and teers

hehehe You guys dont even relise that you are doing what thay wanted. When they release news like that, it creates intrest.

I dont even know if they did release news. People kept pestering the valve people in emails and some chat things and they just said, 'later this week' or 'hopefully thursday' or something. And yes, i also got the impression they are releasing a bunch of new media as well. Probably screen shots and some short vids and some things for Mags etc will come at the same time.

Well, the only official news I heard of it was posted on PlanetHalflife.com, so I immediately came here to see if I could find more info. Sadly, I found a bunch of people whining because of the delayed media.

As far as I've seen, they never gave a specific time or date. It's probably as some people said; a bunch of bs. It's understandable too, as HL2's level of hype and interest is reaching a fever pitch.

Yeah the hype is kinda scary, especially for the peeps at valve, they put a lot of hard work and effort into this game, and im affraid no matter how great it is, its not going to be able to live up to a lot of peoples expectations...A lot of people are imagining a game that the biggest super computer would have a hard time running..so for valves sake, i hope this hype dies down a little before release

In accuality, most people that are hyped about the game are hyped because it will run on a lower end system.. Most gamers have 1-2 ghz computers or even less, so a game like HL2 able to run on a 700mhz with an older 3d card means it should run great on a system with a modern 3d card and a 1.5 ghz or better.

If it doesn't , and you need a super computer, alot of people will be disappointed. Not everyone can afford a super computer with a 500-700 dollar 3d card (I am Canadian!).

I personally hope it runs on my sons 550 mhz Athlon so he will stay off my 'Super Computer' :)
