Ok, here's the assignment: Make an imaginary protein by first writing a DNA sequence, then the mRNA sequence, then the tRNA with anticodons, then state the amino acid sequence. Allow for start and stop codons. State how many amino acids long the protein will be. State whether exons are removed, whether it has domains, if it is modified and how it is transported. Then describe what it does!

For an extra point, state what initiates the protein synthesis in the first place.
I have no Idea even where to start on this assignment. Are there any bio buffs out there?

Note the word "Imaginary". Just begin with a start codon, make up your own alphabet soup of nucleotides, and end it. The transfer to mRNA and tRNA shouldn't even be a question: one of the base pairs is different, but they are mirror images of each other. If I remember correctly, there are only 21 amino acids that we use - surely there's a table listing the nucleotide sequence/corresponding amino acid in your book somewhere? I think you'll find this fairly easy once you have your DNA sequence made up. If you've not been paying attention in class and this is total gibberish, welcome to hell.
