Need help

Hey, sorry to have to make a thread, but i have no idea what this thing is. everytime i restart my computer and start up Internet explorer, it always sends me to the same website, some search engine. So i then go and change what my homepage is set to, and everythin is fine. but when i restart and load up Internet explorer again, the same webpage loads up, i have no idea what to do to make it not load up. any help would be apreciated.

i was just reading about this...in another forum or something...
i remember something about a corrupted hosts file...

do a google search for "corrupted hosts file"

also check out this website:

good possibility that ad-aware will remove it...as i'm sure it was probably some spyware program or whatever that changed your hosts file for you

Heheh, i have ad aware, scanned, deleted everythin that came up, still there.

I had this happen to me a while back. The web site has actually installed a worm in your system. There is a way to remove it, or at the BOTTOM of the website there is an option to STOP sending me here. It will remove itself...

Kinda gay. I will look up the removal thingy...brb.//////

pretty simple to understand, but make sure you FOLLOW ALL their steps. If it is passthison.com that you are being hacked from, there is a way to do it through their webpage....

It pays to read the fine print. At the very bottom of the page is a link titled, "Click here to exit now." Clicking on the link will halt the JavaScript routine and close the browser window without further ado.

That is really the best way to do it, as when I tried to remove it from the registry, it came back almost instantaneously....

try going into the internet offline or by pressing work offline, in the internet bar it should tell give u a odd internet address something like a22eaaf or woteva it is it doesnt matter, just copy it and do a find on the computer and if u find a file called that delete it thats what i did and it went away.
