Hello everyone, I am an avid reader of these forums, been here since the beginning and I rarely post. Nevertheless, I need your help!
My roommate and I are in the same apartment (obviously) and we both have our seperate rooms each with an internet connection outlet.
We have Time Warner cable and we can both access websites, but we cannot join the same server and basically one of us can play games on the internet and the other one cant connect to any servers. Frankly it sucks.
I am the more avid gamer of the two of us, so he has let me "have" the game connection. I've played FPS's since Doom shareware and he's not entirely into them, until he got his hands on TF2. Now he plays it even more than i do. But this is all besides the point.
Is there something we can do to allow us to play at the same time?
I checked our IP's (im not really sure how "secure" it is to tell someone my IP address but his ends like this:
XXX.XXX.0.10
and mine, the 'master' IP ends in
XXX.XXX.0.11
We have a Linksys "Cable Gateway" if this means anyone to anybody, I can also give the model number if needed.
If anyone can help me to succeed in fixing this I might even considered paying them a little something something through Pay Pal.
Please help me! I would really appreciate it!
