Help. One of my computers that is running windows XP pro will shut down suddenly with this error message:

The System is being shut down. Please close all applications. Any unsaved information will be lost. This set bt NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM

Then it says:

Windows Must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated Unxpectedly

Please help, its getting really annoying

Update your xp...its prob the blaster worm...

Yep, definetly sounds like something like that. Run a virus scan, run windows update, and you should be ok.

It's the blaster worm, do windows update, if it starts to shutdown write in the start line /shutdown -a (Start ---> Run). That should keep it from restarting your comp when you're doing the Windows update.

enable XP firewall then hit windows update for the msblaster patch. the firewall will allow you to update instead of shutting you down before you DL is complete. good luck.
