NEW EP2/Orange Box footage!

If Breen wasn't saved by the Vortigaunts or The G-man then perhaps he was saved by another agent.

I would so work for Agent Smith.

No doubt he would rant at me about game tropes as I gun down Zion forces.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd prefer it if Breen died in the Citadel. It was a fitting place for the character to end his days, and he had the acest last words ever uttered by a game baddie (Hitler's "Auf Wiedersen, Eva!" from Wolfenstein was a distant second).
 
I wonder... what happened to the new
Lighting and Shadowing system?? It seems that it's not implemented on these trailers.

This is true. Breen dying up there really brings his story to a close; his death marks the 'change', as it were, of the Combine Advisors taking control. He was the middle man, the man who managed the transition - but he's taken out of play and the two forces converge. That's actually a pretty good way of thinking about it.
 
Hey guys. Its no problem watching this vid. You only get glimpses from all over the game, you cant make any sence
of how the pieces fit together. And there is only minor storyline revelations. I suggest you watch and get even more excited about the game :bounce:

A part of me expects Breen back at some point, not sure how, but just emerging from the shadows. We never even said goodbye.
 
I agree Reginald, I think Breen will be back, though I woudl prefer it if he died on the citadel. I'm sure valve have done something with him that none of us imagined.
 
Breen was too good a character to dispose of completely. He'll be back.

Do you remember the argument Dr. Been had with the Combine Advisor, just before reaching the top of the Citadel? He was talking about changing body, mind transfer, something like that. I don't remember the exact words.

Yeah, that scene in Episode One kinda hinted he was an advisor, though it would kinda suck, because its kinda obvious.
 
I can only imagine what Breen would say if he came back as his human self: "Oh did you ever think I was dead? *does Breen laugh* Silly Dr. Freeman, what could have possibly make you think that? Well I'm back, and feeling great!"

*gloats at the thought of Breen's comeback*
 
I think that in the last chapter we're going to be alone or it depends on which chapter we reach the silo then it's the next chapter after that, I think Alyx is going to stay behind in the silo and you will go on and take down the striders which makes sense for gameplay video 5.

Then he would continue with "I'm actually now......Mecha Breen!!!"

On topic: It would be awesome to see some of the G-man again in one of the spoiler video's even if it is only 2 seconds but then again why spoil his big moment until the game comes out especially since it's a month away, it's just that I miss his long speeches.

It is there, look at the video when they are in the Antlion cave and uses the flashlight it casts shadows.
 
Breen will be back, but not in a 'host body' he'll just be human with different clothes I think.
