NEW MODERN WARFARE 2 TRAILER - MULTIPLAYER

I have played TF2 and the class system put me off more then the art style, I hated how easy it was to snipe a heavy (big and slow) but harder to get say a scout (small and fast). I know each class had its pro's and con's, but they were pretty unbalanced. I may have given TF2 another chance, but its bright atmosphere makes it feel very meh to me.

Not to say the killstreaks in COD 4 were balanced, I hated how an airstike can kill nothing, yet helicopters destroy (especially when UAV's are launched). The weapons too, M16 overuse in the regualr MP modes turn me off from that, but hardcore modes make it more fair since most (if not all) weapons are 1 or 2 shot kills.
Those are some of the reasons I feel TF2 is one of the most balanced multiplayer shooters ever. It's like a game of rock-paper-scissors in hyperbolic space.

I hated those things too. I swear to god they hunt alphabetically... As soon as those things fly into the map their sights are usually locked on to me already. That's one of the reasons I played a lot more hardcore, just so the helos would get dropped real fast.

Not only that, but you have ******s using rapid fire controllers, lag hacks and automatic headshot hacks... it ruins the gaming experience to the 10000 degree. Hopefully it changes in MW2.

In COD4 multiplayer, its as if I spend my day sending out complaints/reports to Microsoft when on Xbox Live.

Sounds like back when I got GoW2, like 75% of the f*ckers online use bloody lagswitches when hosting to get big advantages(basically it makes the host using the lagswitch zap around the map, it's for him everyone stop moving etc, so he runs around and kills them, since he's the host, it's his stuff that counts, not the other players, so its in other words like time freezes for him, he runs around and kills, then bam, for you, the player(not host) all this shit happens in the blink of an eye.

It's also really bad in Halo 3.

It's a shame that there's not really any place to escape cheaters, be it consoles or computers, when it comes to public servers..

The only way to feel fairly sure there's no cheaters/glitchers is to play within your own clan with another well-reputed clan.

You would see they were balanced if you ever played anything but Sniper. Ever.

That wouldn't do any good. You'd need a big coat of brown to make him happy. Grey is good too. The fact that he's complaining he can't hit a scout is rather ridiculous too. Learn to aim buddy.

It just seems a little pretentious to not play a game specifically because of its art style. Katamara Damacy is a childish looking game, but it's fun, no? Can't you say the same for Roco Loco, Super Mario Galaxy, Banjo Kazooie, and any other (fun) game with a cartoony or "childish" art style?

If it really affects your enjoyment of the game, then you don't have to play it. But it's akin to judging a book by its cover. "I don't like how this game looks, so I won't play it." Your loss, nine times out of ten.

Fair enough. I can't think of a game that I've otherwise enjoyed and stopped playing because of the art style. On the other hand I can think of certain games that weren't that great but I have chosen to play almost solely because of the art style (the new PoP for instance). That at least shows that art style can have a significant effect on games. I can see the type of person that's only into military themed games being put off by a cartoony style and therefore not getting immersed in the experience.

I really should try TF2 again though. I had a real hard time getting into it at first and then just lost interest. A main reason might've been the chaos of it, which would be alleviated by smaller servers like you said. They've made a lot of improvements since then and I'm a sucker for leveling systems which I think they've added ... so I'll give it another shot.

As far as CoD4 ... it seems to be getting a lot of irrational hate here. It's got a fun MP and being able to customize your kill streak is a neat feature. The one they showed in the vid certainly seemed a lot more balanced than the heli too (being forced to aim yourself/an easier weapon to shoot it down with).
