I think it's pretty lame that not even the characters casts shadows on the ground, I mean that can't be that GPU demanding.
I believe fable uses lightmaps and static shadows.Perhaps, but Fable does it, and Fable's current gen(and XB1), but I guess they feel they don't want to sacrifice something else for the shadows.
I'm not saying it's ugly, it's beautiful, it's just little things like that prevent me from being fully immersed in the game.

Check out the character's shadows in this trailer, pay special attention to the skeleton near the beginning: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=5874&type=wmv
Those look real-time to me.
No sorry, do you have and play Fable?Minerel said:I believe fable uses lightmaps and static shadows.
I have played Fable.(Cousins house). No sorry, do you have and play Fable?
So your saying Every single shadow in the game changes with the sun? Every single shadow in the game draws over every single other piece of geometry correctly? If There is 4 lights around you, all the correct shadows will be drawn? Does the shadow from his head appear on the rest of his body? Same with his arms? Then go to the picnic area, stand near that "clock", look at it and your own character, and you'll see the shadows moving dynamically along with the course of the sun.
When you're outside, the only thing that casts (dynamic) shadows is the sun, so not say a street-lamp or such, but it still looks nice, and yes, Fable does feature self-shadowing, your arms casts shadows on you, your sword does, your head, your leg, your shadow casts onto NPCs correctly, their shadows casts onto themselves correctly, buildings shadows casts over items correctly, etc.Minerel said:So your saying Every single shadow in the game changes with the sun? You see, if shadows do not go over geometry correct, they are far FAR FAR less gpu intensive. Only having to do 1 shadow is also a great help.
LOL @ 360 looking "as good or better than PC". No sorry. It simply won't happen.
definately! Can't wait to make my special Ninja ring that lets me jump higher than houses!Angry Lawyer said:Can't wait to see what editing facilities they provide.

Xbox 360 does not have 3 processors it has 1 with 3 cores.Three processors and a GPU that hasnt even been released yet.
My Hollow ring allows me to jump 3 loading areas in morrowind ^_^. Going between Raven Rock and that Fort in bloodmoon had never been faster and easier(well of course there is a boat but my way pwns that way in actual morrowind time).definately! Can't wait to make my special Ninja ring that lets me jump higher than houses!

So what you're saying is, you make a mod for the PC version, and then if it's good enough, Bethesda uploads it to Xbox Live?DEATH eVADER said:It has been confirmed that the more successful mods (The ones that arn't stupid and cheesy) will be downloadable via Xbox live, onto your HDD

Well the person who makes it would have to approve it aswell. And your version would also have to come with a Hard Drive(Which is required for Xbox Live anyway). So what you're saying is, you make a mod for the PC version, and then if it's good enough, Bethesda uploads it to Xbox Live?
