new radar sucks ass

Price changes...I don't really know what they'll change, maybe price per bullet incase i only used one last round?

Man, they could do so much with the buy system. Perhaps have a menu section for left-over ammo that people have extra of when they buy ammo like the situation Deathmaster described. Or have certain things "on sale" (reduced price) on some rounds, randomly. Would encourage using different weapons other than M4 and AK all the time.

I don't mind AWPs either. It isn't that hard to defend or advance even if most of the team has them. That just means they are all going to be in the back or around the corner, perfect place for my flash or HE nade. Besides, they have a rhythm so that makes it easier to take them down.

One thing I think they should change is how easy it is to get jumping headshots. Such as with an m4, aug or other rifle. I don't mind the shotguns because they are supposed to be powerful up close.

They should increase HE nade count to 2.
That would even the feild between me and AWPs.

I always wondered why we could only carry one, the side belt things that hold the nades seem capable of holding as many as there are sections.

they should put the damn tactical shield bak to CS:S
make it so its not invincible..
why the hell did they remove it anyway.

There was a thread actually on a community forum asking whether it should stay or go. Guess what the community picked. ;)

What they should really do is make grenades more powerful so that they are actually useful. They are ridiculously underpowered and only ever scratch the enemy unless he's allready been shot up a bunch. They need to boost up the power of them to make them alot more useful. It would be nice to chuck a grenade and blow up an awper or two instead of just scratching them. Afterall I'm throwing a grenade not a freaking fire cracker.

I find the new radar very distracting. Hopefully that will pass ...... except it's so ****ing big maybe it won't?! I've mostly died from trying to watch the radar instead of what im doing since the update! Be interesting to see if & how it alters gameplay once people are used to it. But does anyone here really feel it will improve gameplay? Im' not convinced of that at all at the mo. It obviously looks more sophisticated than the old radar but at the moment that's all I have to say about!

I think it made the game easier but I'm not sure if that improved gameplay or not. Assuming someone just recently spotted the enemy... If I'm on the rushing side I can peak around the corner for just long enough to head shot the snipers down the hall since I know which side of the hall they stand on. On D it is harder because you get rushed when you are not prepared for it since they know where you are. So you have to stay back far enough so that even if you get spotted, your dot is off the radar.

I think pubbers will distance themselves even more from the good players on the scoreboard now. If defense starts playing back and offensive starts pushing harder, I bet the n00bs on both sides would start playing a lot worse. Unless they can coast unharmed with the good players.

In 1.6 grenades hardly dealt enough damage to kill, even when it lands next to you. In Source, you get killed if it lands close to you. So it's been improved.

Don't pull the "You're all ungrateful bastards" card just because some people don't like the new update. It's not like they gave us some side bonus which doesn't really affect the game, the game has been almost completely changed now and we can't go back...what are you expecting us to say? "Thanks valve!" ? There's a difference between being an "ungrateful shit" and being pissed at valve for changing the entire gameplay of CSS.

And yes, I have played CSS with the new update and the new radar does suck ass. I'm not an "ungrateful little shit" because I hate the new radar. Get over your damn fanboyism for 2 seconds and start learning to accept others opinions..

Jesus christ.

It's a fuggin radar change, it BARELY CHANGES THE GAME.

It's almost the exact same radar, except now when somebody goes down, it points out the obvious (must be somebody thar), and it's COLORED!

I really hated it at first, but then I changed it so it didn't turn when I turned, and I eventually got used to it.

Odd. When I throw a grenade and it lands right beside them they don't die.

Extremely under-powered.

That's strange. I've never killed anybody with a grenade in 1.6 when it landed NEXT to the guy. Seen plenty on Source, though.

Well, I just played it for a few hours with my new pc..

First, my PC rapes CS:S, I get around 160FPS max on most maps and that's at 1280x1024 with highest everything.

It doesn't affect gameplay a whole lot and it's fun seeing 5 crosses in one area, but I still dislike how it shows where they are. It's not a major impact though and it has helped me before, but I still prefer either listening for footsteps and so on, or just the good ole 'suprise' of running into an enemy.

Also, I never really noticed the shadows before, they can be useful.

- I still don't approve of it after extensive gameplay. :p

I agree! But I will still play it. :sniper:

n00b - "you hack!"
me - "i do, it's called radar update and I got it from valve. lol n00bs"

In CS kevlar reduces grenade damage significantly, in CS:S it doesn't...

If you could kill someone on 100hp with grenade it would be so much worse than the awps so many people whinge about, at least for an awper to kill you in one shot s/he has to see you...

Problem with nades is their splash damage is terribly unrealistic. I've thrown nades that land 5 feet from a guy and do no damage, and I've had them thrown at me and injur me from around a corner.
They need a larger damage radius with no penetration.
If it can't take out a door, there is no sense in the damage going through it.

Its a stupid game.
N00bs play source. Pr0s play 6.

I remember when 1.6 or whatever was at the height of it's popularity, I was ridiculing those CS nerds and wondering what the hell is so great about it.

Man those guys are still nerds.

(Oh, I think I should mention this for giggles. A few days before graduation in our A+ course (yeah we had that in HS) we brought in two Xboxs and linked up Halo ftp.)

Yeah, that was a tangent.

The first server I joined I had like 20-2 and this person joins the server and straight away (He was 0-1) he says "zomg squirly nerd hacks."

I love Source. :/

I love the updated graphics, being able to copy/paste text in chat and other small improvements - I want 1.6 to get updated. :(

well, All i can say, is that everytime there has been a cs update, I hate it at first, even for the first couple weeks. Then I somehow adapt to it and start owning again. Well I havnt been able to see it, due to the fact, im out of state for 2 years. I'll be back in 5 months. Hopefully the game is still going so I can enjoy a few more years of it. Ive been playing CS or on STEAM sense steam came out in 01 I think it was. This radar thing sounds gay, But I dont know much about it, cause I havnt been able to play. If someone could send me a SS of this to my email, that would be great. I don't know if im alowed to put it up here, oh well. Thanks..

They are destroying the game by making it less competitive and more n00b freindly.

How is it less competitive?

You still have to kill the opposite team :S

I guess making the game better = making it noob friendly. If that's the case, I hope they noob it up.

Hi Can Some one Please conver my GIF into a VTF I have it in TGP Please then email it to me at [email protected];)

Off-topic post, pointless, spam, reported...Dude you've made your own freakin' thread already.

As for it being less competitive, you can scan through smokes and see the enemy. So much for smoke screens.

My computer died so I haven't played with it using my mouse and keyboard (inbuilt aimbot tbh). When it's redownloaded I'll give you the official verdict, which goes above all else.

I use smoke nades a lot. Yay!
*kills more n00bs

It's not noob-friendly imo.

You still have to look at the enemy to get them to come up on the radar and by the time said noob catches sight of the enemy he will be dead.
