New screenshots and features of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

It seems the people who dislike the games either know nothing about them because they've only played them for about ten minutes or over exagerate to try to get the point across. Don't forget sarcasm, you can't insult the GTA games without sarcasm. These people are usually bigots, liking only one genre of video game and are intolerant of others, or think it's cool not to like something that's popular just because it's popular. If you don't like it just say so but don't make stupid remarks like, "OMG I STOLE A CAR, THAT'S ALL YOU DO IN THIS GAME!!!! ROFLMAO!!11!11!", "OMGz0rZ!!!!11!!! THEY ADDED A BIKE!!!!! WOOO WOOO!!!!! I read up on the game..they are adding a bike..and you can get a haircut!! wow how cool is taht..you can get a HAIRCUT /sarcasm.

I also read you can eat and work out.. AKA you walk into a little circle and te screen goes black then comes back on and a little text says "you have gained muscle" wow how fun will that be :upstare:

It's true... how many incredible changes are they making to the game? They should just call it an expansion pack because this is clearly not worthy of the "new game" title. It's a cash-in, a cash-in that attracts a lot of people (ETM anyone?)

Yeah, I'm hoping the actual missions are a lot less tacked on. IMO, they were the least fun part of the other two, far outweighed by the fun of simply commiting crimes until you get a six-star, and then avoiding the tanks.

the missions are alot more involved with the rest of the game now, your missions will always affect the world in someway or another.

the game will rock. i will buy :thumbs:

Yeah, that's really a stupid thing to say. If it's a good game why in the world do you care what the character looks like?

I just care about gender when I play.. I chose the black human dude in Jedi Academy.
Race doesn't matter, I think it's fun to play black characters.

How exactly am I racist for not wanting to play as an avatar that represents me? I suppose black people enjoy playing as whites too right? No? same deal then.

Also I'm not white, I'm hispanic and I have no problems with "normal" people AKA people of any color so long as they are not:

A) Trying to use their race as leverage like they do here in America
B) Overreacting to "racist" comments much like some of you have reacted to my posts here (when in fact I simply judge people on character, way to go darkstar)
C) Trying use "reverse racism" to attack other people and thinking its ok.

Maybe its because I grew up in a country and a society where people didn't care about color because we were all a mix of races, maybe it's because in my lifetime I've been friends with all sorts of people in different ethnic groups (including black people, some of my best friends were black) and I know that not all black people have to listen to rap, wear 'bling' and pretend to be 'gangstas'.

A good game is a game that makes me immersed, shooting up people in a BMX bike as a black character doesn't really work for me. I guess it would be ok if Gordon Freeman were a defined character in HL2, represented by a furry female cat. Yeah it doesn't make a lick of difference to the player does it? Or maybe it does and that's why the main character in games is always thought about carefully by developers. Rockstar is clearly targeting a demographic here and that's fine with me, however, that should not impede me from voicing my opinion on the subject should it?

In conclusion, I find it somewhat funny what people depict as racism here in the states. Take for example our friend Alig here, he says I'm apparently being racist in my own little legal way because I said I don't like embodying a black character who's part of a gang in current culture. Then again, I guess you could also say that I'm racist because I prefer eating ravioli over macaroni. Yeah... that makes a ton of sense doesn't it?

PS: Alig, you're being racist for calling me racist because I'm clearly from a minority group. Way to go politically correct America!
 
^^ A large furry cat really doesn't fit the setting of HL2. A black dude in 90's California fits the setting of the GTA 5.

Still, if the gameply of Half-Life was exactly the same, and it was just as good a game except that you were supposed to be a large furry cat, I wouldn't really care to tell you the truth. It would seem a little strange, but it really doesn't change the gamel in my book.

All I'm saying is that I care about gameplay about 1000x more than what the protaganist looks like.

i was just reading something in Ricos thread where it said "people use race as leverage" that happens all the time here up north in america where I live. No offence to black people but they use there race to get things as leverage all the time up here.

I just hope this game is more than a cash-in that's all. One of my friends who's obsessed with the GTA series is probably going to get it no matter what so I at least hope its a decent game instead of Vice City 2.

Anyways I find I have more in common with "white" culture in the states than black hip-hop and rap culture. I wouldn't care if the character were black and acted like any normal guy but when they combine that with 90's style gangs, hairstyles and 'bling', plus BMX bikes... then I'm not so hot about it capiche?

What are the chances of letting you play a cop or something? That would be awesome.
 
I think this ones gonna be different from the others. I dunno why I just have a feeling that Rockstar is gonna do a good job changing it up this time.
 
Many of you are saying that GTA:SA is just going to be an expnsion from VC. Well if it is, UT2004 was a expansion from UT2003, but its was still immensly fun and spawned many mods and I still play it - has loads of replayability.

Pressure, I do hope it's different from the stuff we've seen already. What kind of improvements did they make to the graphics engine? Also did they finally add in the ability to use helicopters and other flying gismos?

I kinda hope they fixed up the combat system too, I really didn't like how they handled guns and stuff on GTA3 and VC. It was clumsy.
