new series of Doctor Who

Aye, it was quite good this episode.
Oh and Torchwood was horrific, complete crap.

I missed the episode :(
Next one is Daleks, isn't it?

Anyone see the newest one? I thought it was quite good, though it could have been far far better.

I agree Torchwood was terrible. The new episode was kinda good but the pigs slave idea was wierd and

SPOILERS

a dalek turning human WTF??!

END SPOILERS

I dont mind the Daleks coming back this time. But they are the last 4 in existance. 100%. No screwing around. When this lot buys the farm they're all gone. Forever. Wiped out. Extinct. Gone.

I like Daleks as much as the next man, but I really hate how they kill the "last one left" and then next series its "oh yeah, apart from those ones".

Stop leaning on old monsters and get some new ideas.

Missed this one too. Stupid job. Please tell me there's a repeat on during the week.

Also, the problem with coming up with a new enemy as good as the Daleks, is you can't. They are, as they believe, the perfet race. Almost impossible to kill and hell-bent on destroying everything else. Otherwise, I agree with you. There should be a handful of Daleks left and no more.

I want these last ones to escape. Maybe one or two die. No finishing all of them off then resurrecting them later.

I'd send you the recording I have of it but it's 1.5gb. If I get a decent conversion of it I'll upload it or send me your MSN or something Riom.

It's probably already on youtube :P
Anyway, by the time my dial-up modem can download it UKTV Gold will already be showing it :P

Oh... I liked the first few minutes of the second part but it could have been so much better.

That was surpirslingly good IMO, the best of the third series so far.
but two weeks D:...next up is 42.

Missed this one too :bonce:

Must see next one. If only for the Hitchhickers' Guide reference.

When Lazarus mutated, I could only think: "Man, The Thing looked so much better and that was knocked together by John Carpenter in the 80s out of a few bits of sheep's gut and animatronic offal."

I posted that already about Arachno-Lad The Third but it's equally applicable here.

So I wasn't the only one that thought that he looked like something from the thing. It was easily the best episode of the series so far as IMO this season has been pretty weak. Also am I the only one or does anyone else despise Martha's mother?

100% on all points.

I thought that Smith and jones and the shakespeare code were pretty good, partiucalary the latter, but gridlock was terrible (the whole plot has so many holes it would take a whole A4 to write it down. And the dalek ones weren't much better...good to see Saxon mentioned.

Still, the first series (with Chris in) was much better. Its not Davids fault that Russel T Davis sucks at writing most of the time - just look at what hes done to the daleks.

I just finished watching the new episode and it was definitely the best of the series so far. It was the first episode of the 3rd series that IMO reached the brilliance of some of the episodes from the prior seasons. Can't wait for part 2.

Yeah, it was really good. If only all the episodes were as well-written as this one.

42: Alright episode, better than some stuff, but ludicrous science (a living sun - how does a ball of fire and gas become alive?) and filled with the usual plotholes

todays (forget the name): much better, one of the best of the new series.

This new one was also good, shows how cruel the doctor can be and says a lot about people back then (wtf is up with the hight of their trousers? Its up to their armpits! Okay slight exxageration)

An excellent finish.

Lots of things to talk about but I can't be bothered right now. I'll say this though: finally, competent aliens!

The bit were the angel appears right up to his face scared the living shit out of me. Luckily I was watching it with a friend. I liked all the twists at the end, from the angels staring at each other to the doctor having no idea whats happened, and the image of the statues at the end. The only episode thats actually made me jump. I thought it was very good (better than that last one in the same style by far)

I hope this run of quality continues because the last three episodes have been really good (in contrast to much of the current series being a bit naff). This coming one looks alright but threatens to neuter a maybe-good concept with cheap execution.

Possibly the cleverest monster concept they've had, plus a cunning gambit of casting unknown/new characters, which made it fairly tense as we have no guarantee they will survive for the next episode.

The angels have got the telephone box!

Yeah it was an excellent episode! I can't wait for next week with the return of Captain Jack! :D

The lazarus experiment was good too I thought.

This was a cool episode actually, even though I don't like Doctor Who much. It was good because that sidekick lady was barely in the episode.

Once again Doctor Who was BRILLIANT

Can't wait for Captain Harkness to come back, and for John Simm to come on as Master

hahahah! Torchwood and Dr Who are on different channels down under!

Can't wait to see Jack in the last three Episodes, but will have to watch on TV - can't be bothered being very very legal.

Those angels in Blink wre the only things that have ever really creped me out in Doctor Who!

I'm willing to bet I'm the biggest DW fan on this forum. :P

This new series has been the best of the resurrection (regeneration?) so far. Every episode apart from the dodgy 2nd Dalek one has been perfect with highlights being Gridlock, Human Nature/The Family of Blood and Blink.

My favourite story ever is The Ark in Space with Tom Baker. Amazing.

Oh, and I loved Torchwood...

?!?!?!?

The only episode I remotely liked was the one with the monster in the cage and only because it reminded me of Fight Club.

Yeah, Combat. That was probably the best episode. But there were some greats; Everything Changes, Cyberwoman, Small Worlds, Greeks Bearing Gifts, They Keep Killing Suzie, Out of Time, Captain Jack Harkness and End of Days.

I never saw what was wrong with it. But any supposed problems are being fixed for Series 2 which has almost 3 months more in post-production than Series 1 which was rushed and fairly botched.

I just watched the new episode amd I can say without a doubt that it was easily the best episode of the season. It started off terrible in my opinion but this season really picked up after the family of blood episodes. I did not expect the master to appear this episode :O although I do have 3 little qaulms:

1. what about the Mr. Saxon from the previous episodes? If the true master was locked away then what was the deal with him?

2. How did the master return after dying in the movie??

3. I thought the Master used up all of his regenerations? WTF? O_o

Was very good, I'm glad we found out how Jack found his way back. I loved the way he flirted with everyone, from Martha, to that guy, to that alien woman. I was a bit disapointed we didn't get to see the collapse of reality...but you know.

Actually didn't the end of torchwood have the tardis materialise in torchwood not outside of it?
