At the bottom left of the page there is a drop down that lets you change skins.
I don't care much for valid HTML code. As long as it looks the same in every browser and works in them I don't see a problem
Not to mention saving the hosting company that hosts the place for free some bandwidth.W3C compliant HTML is there for a very good reason Munro, and it has little to do with browser compatibility... but hey, I'm not going to blind you with technicalities

I liked the old design better. Was unique and gave the site character. Why fix something that's not broken?
I did a CSS version of the site when it was changed to see how long it would take me - 15 minutes including menus etc styled.
