Yes...better...;)
from their commercial perspective :p . Regardless of Halo's actual quality, it's market potential is argueably the best of any FPS game in the world

No matter how short I found this game, it'll be good to play it again.

The argument between Gearbox and Valve is obvious:

Them not allowing Blue Shift on Steam for years,
Who wasn't allowing Blue Shift on Steam? Gearbox or Valve?

Again, that was an INTERNET RUMOUR. For all we know Valve just didn't want to bother with it or Vivindi had more control over BS being that it was still being sold in stores when Vivindi and Valve started slap-fighting.

Valve canceled their excellant looking and almost complete CZ which we will never play :(
Actually, according to the press release, Gearbox stopped working on it to move on to bigger and better (Read: Non-half-life engine) things) And really, how do you know it was "almost complete?"

and Half Life PS2 also the HD pack not being allowed on Steam.
And I'm sure the PS2 version of Half-Life itself had nothing to do with the lack of PC port? There's a reason they made exclusive content for it, after all.

And not integrating the HD pack into Steam means Valve isn't happy with Gearbox HOW exactly? They would have had to make new functionality to allow for the option to use it or not, which is a lot of work in the place of working on NEW content. Lack of HD content affects Gearbox none, so that's not really a great way to spite them. And Gearbox certainly doesn't give a rip about Valve using it considering they let modders use them with impunity.

that argument

So basically a bunch of assumptions about percieved motives with no actual evidence. Right.

Oh good! It only took a little over THREE YEARS to get it on steam.
