Which style of pizza do you like best? Thin New York style pizza or thick you have to eat it with a fork and knife Chicago deep dish style?

Chicago:

I'd have to say NY generally. Chicago is stupidly nice for when you're absolutely famished however.. a tough decision.

Reminds me how I burned my pizza. Yes, because of hl2.net.

Btw, pizza is from Italy, you know that, right?

New York, but I've never tried Chicago so right now I'd say Chicago because I've never tried it (looks like a thin quiche!)

NY style because I've never had Chicago style and I hate quiche

Chicago is great, deep pan, lots of extra cheese, cant go wrong.

Buffalo Style! you add some chicken fingers on there, some more pepperoni, some sausage, then bread sticks and a pitcher of beer

I like a thicker variant of the New York style. Pan pizzas in general are kinda meh, and deep dish like the one in the pic is just too much.

I have never in my life eaten a Chicago style pizza - could anyone state the pros and cons of both styles?

They both look amazing here, but I've never tried that Chicago one, either.

Both! The Chicago can fill you up on just two slices.

I'll be honest here too, I think I've only eaten Chicago style like once or twice and wasn't anything to write home about. Like mentioned Chicago is like a dish, very deep and thick bread. NY style is different wherever you go but is generally thinner and consisting of a shorter bread surface area but both are prepared differently. The pan for a NY style is flat, whereas the Chicago style uses a deep pan. some places do both types

Pretty similar to eating a pie, but a pie with pizza ingredients and thicker crust. It also doesn't get super soggy like most New York Style Pizza does. In that sense it also makes Chicago style better for left-overs. I love New York style as well, but often it just feels like flatbread dipped in grease.

NY for me. I've never had Chicago but that picture doesn't look very appetizing.

I've had Chicago style once a few years ago. It was like...really thick pizza :E
But I prefer NY style, that's what pizza is. Chicago style is more like a ridiculous extreme of Deep dish bending toward lasagna. It's worth trying though.

That was my first thought actually - "Ew, that looks like a lasagna pie. How is that considered pizza?"

A real man eat's chicago style with his hands... and doesn't make a mess.

Everytime I watch that movie (which has been like twice) I look for this scene and never find it.

That being said - I can't really decide. I regularly get both styles. Chicago style tends to have more flavor and be more filling, which seems like it would make it a clear winner, but sometimes NY style will be the only thing for me. It's easier to eat and seems to lend it self to a wider variety of toppings.

I love good food though, but really who doesn't? Since there's not an option for undecided, I shall... ABSTAIN!

"Deep Pan" in Australia is basically, like, two NY slices atop of each other.

When I was in LA my whole family + me were unable to defeat a single american NY style pizza. You fat ****s.

Before this thread I have never seen a Chicago style pizza before, but I always imagined the "Pizza Pies" that I always hear about would have been similar.

I feel conflicted, my dad is from New York, but I'm a midwestern boy and grew up an hour away from Chicago in Milwaukee. I like whatever pizza has more grease I suppose.

Yeah, you heard me mother****er.

I'm a pizzaphile and proud of it.

We demand rights too!

The right to marry!

Seriously though chicago deep dish is ****ing delicious and more cushion for the pushin

I think it's a shoop.

Chicago for me.

One time, while in Indiana, I went to a place called "Chicago's Pizza" and all of their pizza was NY style. It was sad.

i thought you meant cities and then it wasnt so the thread sucks

you suck if you dont know go die

Does that pitcher double in size for an extra 40c?

You couldnt sum up the US any better than that.

Ive heard legendary stories of NY pizzas, so if I had a choice between the two, it would be the NY style. Never tried either though.

I had a "Chicago Town" pizza before. The base was like a pastry and it was absolutely disgusting. But I like the Goodfellas ones, which are also thick but more like bread. Is that Chicago style too? Probably New York I guess.

Any type of pizza I can get my hands on, I will eat and enjoy. But the New York style is better.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever had a style of pizza that wasn't awesome. But I probably prefer New York on average. Depends who made it.

Preferably NY style, but I'll eat anything!

New York style for me.

Why are styles of an Italian meal named after American cities?

I appreciate both, although I lean towards the Chicago style when various sorts of meaty toppings are involved.
