I was just wondering if anyone else is into this.

Im sure most of you have heard of/seen Derren Brown. Alot of what he does falls under NLP. Also Paul Macennas new show "I can change your life" is almost entirely NLP.

If you do it, what are your experiences, sucess storys with it ect?
If you don't the guys at www.nlpweekly.com are running a free course Here!.

Theres a member with the Derren Brown pic as his avatar, I sort of thought he was a practicioner.

Interesting link and thread.

Hectic Glenn has a Derren Brown pic as his avatar I think, and used to have him in his sig, but I don't think he's a practitioner. I might want to get into doing this though... seems interesting.

Its great, one of the techniques is called the phobia cure, you can cure ANY phobia with it within 5 minutes.
I just saw so many Hypnosis related stuff, I thought that Id post about this, as Hypnosis and NLP are VERY intertwined.

Lets see if this helps me speed up my metabolism. WHICH IT WONT!

I'm trying to listen to that metabolism thing and I do feel very warm, especially around my stomach. Interesting.

Thats a great thing.

Theres incresing evidence to suggest a link between the brain and the immune system. Let us no what youre experiences are, Id be really intrested to find out.

Theres a forum there as well Im Solaris on that.

Yes, Im seeming to have good results losing that counterstrike belly with the subliminals.

If you do sign up to the course it should start soon, just waiting for a few more people to sign up. This sort of thing would normally cost $200+, ( I know! Self-Help is well expensive).

If you go back into the archives and look at the hypnosis for beginners articles that are running you might find them of some intrest.

This is a good demonstration of a hypnotic induction: Arm Control

Okay, that's just weird. I think it was just me thinking about warming up that did it, but within 30 seconds my chest/stomach was warming up a lot. I'm a skinny bastard though, I don't want to lose anymore weight :p

Theres plenty of others there for you, what about 'Use NLP to combat your Bathing phobia.'

Seing that one made me rofl.

Neuro Linguistic Programming is a gimmick. Read this http://skepdic.com/neurolin.html

It probably doesn't work for you if you steadfastly won't believe it will...

Are you supposed to like, concentrate on it or just play it in the background.

Read the Faq, just have it running in the background for about 30mins and do what ever you like in the meantime.

KngHenry that articles rubbish.

NLP is about moddelling the excellence of others, so its all th best bits from other feilds.

A key stupid thing about that page is:

Another NLP presupposition which is false is "If someone can do something, anyone can learn it."
This may very well be false but whether it is or not is irrelavant. The word presupposition means, we prepose it to be true and act like it is as this will give us the best outcome, it is really irrealavant if it is or not.

Exactly, and then theres Anchoring, rapport, mirroring. All different NLP techniques that are on the site, that can't be placebo.

I'd rather slow down my metabolism. Doesn't matter how much I eat, I'm skinny.

You know what would help you - A hypnotherapist.
It would be alot more effective than a subliminal, but also quite expensive.

Maybe it would be worth paying a wee bit for a self hypnosis mp3, that would give you the desired outcome?

This is kind of scary.. The warmth in my stomach hasn't disappeared, it's less noticeable but still there. I had supper (that's what you call the last meal at the evening in english, right?) not so long ago but i'm hungry again and for some reason I'm really, really restless. :D

Oh so we have to fool ourselves into thinking that we can accomplish whatever we want. Sounds good, the problem is when you land head first on the floor and realize that you have failed miserably.

Cheer up, bosnian kid. Seriously, what the **** is the matter with you? No wonder you're failing constantly with that attitude.

No wonder you think you have social problems. You're incredibly negative.

Your more likely to accomplish something with the attitude, "Someone else can do that, so I can".

Rather than, "Thats impossible theres no point in trying."

The first attitude is more likely to bring sucess than the later.

That presupposition is there to stop limiting beliefs which are at the cause of many mental problems.

I perfectly understand the point you make. The problem is, don't you feel a bit dishonest to yourself? I could lie to other people, but I don't think I could lie to myself, and if I did, I wouldn't believe those lies.

No you don't understand. Im not lying to myself. It is irrellavant whether it is true or false, I just know I will do better if I worked as if it was true.

I could hold the opion that it was complete bull, but live as if it wasn't.

If what you say is true, sooner or later you will start beliving those things, and when that happens, you might be in for a disappointment.

It's like you're too scared to try anything because you're afraid it won't work... silly attitude.

Ennui, it's easy to see the problems, what's not so easy is trying to solve them.
