you've got to be kidding :(

NOLF was good but different genre (both FPS but NOLF is a spoof on James Bond films ala Austin Powers while HL2 is a dramatic Sci-Fi story).

Nolf was top class imo. Have only played the demo of nolf2. Id love someone to remake a nolf game in source.

NOLF had this phenomenon that you rarely see in modern games: the more you play it, the deeper it sucks you in, and the more you want to play it further.
Before anyone explodes, let me explain.
This is how I got into NOLF: twice I played the first 2 missions, and twice I put the game down. I didn't like it, I thought it was not worth it. Then, I tried it the third time after a while. Once I got past the third mission, I couldn't stop playing. I had to take that week off. The more I played, the better it got. No exceptions. Each new mission was unique and better than the previous one.
Look at HL2. Nice game. Really enjoyed playing it. Except, it didn't grab me as much as NOLF did. The seriwes of missions toward the end, where you run around through buildings with your squad... well, they were terrible. Boring, and I just wanted to get through them asap.
NOLF was perfect in every category. The game was over 40 hours in length, more than twice that of HL2, and I never got tired of playing it (in fact, I have replayed the game 3 times over, never quite getting the secret agent rating on all the missions). Besides being perfect in all categories, NOLF also had one of the best, if not the best, individual categories - story and stealth gameplay. I can't think of any other fps game that had a better story, and/or stealth gameplay (Splinter Cell came close) (not to say that all NOLF was stealth).
Oh yeah, I forgot one more important point. NOLF was hilarious.

In my personal opinion, NOLF was much better, and is still much better fps game than HL2 (aside from graphics).
I'm sure many people will agree with me (of course, not those idiots who haven't even played the game )./\

NOLF Was hillarious, for a game that is. I had my fun, but it does not come close to the greatness that is Half Life 2

Edit: Bliink? Moderator? Since when, (hahaha have fun with all these new comers)

I loved NOLF. The writing was hilarious and it had some really inventive and fun levels. However, I've also played a number of other shooters that kick the crap out of it. The first Deus Ex comes to mind. Thief is another. I guess it depends what you're after. NOLF was good the first time, but I'm never drawn to replay it. AvP2, Unreal 2, Half-Life and OpFor, and so many others just beg to be replayed.

Half-Life 2 is the FPS to kill all others. It's incredible in every way and I've replayed many parts already, without even coming close to completing the game. During almost every game, you'll run across the part that sucks, the part that's annoying or hard and you wish you could skip past it and get on with the good stuff. In HL2, from what I've seen, this never occurs. Every single second of every chapter is necessary and loads of fun, and I think it's going to be a long, long time until we see a shooter that beats out this game.

NOLF was a nice for the first 4 hours but after that it was really boring...
Too girly

NOLF was quite possibly the greatest game of its time, second to halflife and a few others (hence not really second)

NOLF was great!

but comparing it to HALF LIFE is NUTS!

comparing it to HL2 u are insane!

Screw making Nolf, It'd be nice if someone made a System Shock (way deeper than NOLF) style game on Source.

In terms of Single Player, there honestly hasn't been as deep of an experience as NOLF2 IMHO. I'm purchasing HL2 (yay payday) today, I have high hopes for it, but I don't know if it can quite beat the overall package of NOLF2 in terms of depth of storyline.

NOLF was a fantastic game, but can't be compared to HL2. If I want pure silly 60's fun, I'll play NOLF. But if I want the thinking man's Sci-Fi shooter, it's HL2. (Or the original HL1. And I guess you could add System Shock 2 as well.)

I'll have to agree that as a game, NOLF can hold its own against the likes of HL2.

It was an incredibly long, and masterfully inventive piece of work that never got boring and kept me entertained for hours on end. I will always fondly remember the countless late night hours I spent enraptured by it. :E But really, it was the first game where I would conciously delay my entry into a room just so I could catch every hilarious conversation between the villians. The graphics were excellent and bright for its time and the story was the perfect balance of camp and action. I can't say NOLF2 was as deep or polished.

The original willl always inspire a small flood of memories each time I see it on a store shelf. It makes me want to pick it up and share it with the person aimlessly browsing the shelf next to me. And that is a true mark of a fantastic game. I mean isn't that what we all want - to enjoy a game so well, that even the memory of it brings a smile to your face?

^Sorry, but that was disgustingly sentimental^

NOLF in no way shape or form "Eats Half-Life 2 for breakfast" hell, NOLF was a decent game, but it wasn't great. Whether you still consider NOLF to be your favourite FPS is another matter, it's all down to personal preference.

The so much enjoyed the original NOLF and played it 7+ times since then. It's setting, humor and style is so unique that i simply fell in love with that game ever since i first played its playable demo back in the day. It ranks right after HL as the best FPS i've ever played.

I hated the sequel though.
