4200, 4600 are super cards! It's just the FX series with their pathetic handling of dx 9 that suck *insert preferred bodypart here*

Gabe and Valve tried to fix Nvidia at least, so they arent pushing out Nvidia. The amount of time and work spent (assuming its true of course) is awesome, I cant say the same about *some* (ie 90% of them) game developers using the Geforce platform as base instead...

what performance gains would I see and are 9800's worth the money vs performance over rival cards and the 9700pro?....

The 9700 PRO is an excellent card. In fact, when I upgrade my video card, if the price difference is significant enough, I'll get hte 9700 PRO instead of the 9800 PRO

Yeah...just looked at those benchmarks...they didn't make me too happy. I recently bought a comp from an online place...they were gonna have an FX5200 installed, but I paid like $40 more to get it up to a 5600...They only dealt with nvidia unfortunately and their comp prices were nice...so I just took what I had in front of me...I wish I could've just paid like $200 for a 9500 pro now. Too bad I just don't have that kind of money to toss around now...I'm in college for christs sake..I'm gonna be in debt like $50,000.. <---I'm gonna be a pilot.

I hope that the card will still run nice on like med-high detail in 1024-768...or at least medium... I hate cranking details down all the way to low.

EDIT: I forget...do any of those benchmarks include AA or AF? If they don't.....then SHIT!!

Yeah , but seriously , try being mean once , its fun. Im nice all the rest of the time , being mean and inconsiderate is what the internet is here for.

PS- Im not doubting my car can rock , but its a little discouraging to see 650000000 posts about it. So I took my anger out on someone I already dislike.
