So I decided that I'd revisit one of the best games ever, IMO. Just got to the boss at the Fire Temple and after 6 or 7 years, this still seems like one hell of a good game. If you haven't ever played it, I demand that you go buy a N64 and pick up Zelda Occarina of Time. It's like what, probably $20 all together by now...

already own a n64 with ocarina of time, but Im ganna turn my n64 into a P64
(portable n64)
so I can play ocarina of time in school

It still stands as my favourite game of all time. Which is why im looking forward to TP and the Wii.

get a DS :)

I remember when I bought this back in 98 or whenever I just sat on the intro screen until I went to sleep.

It was kinda late.

I've only played through it once since then.

Yep, 'tis the best game I've ever played. So many great memories, although it was a pity that Majora's Mask came in the aftermath of it...kind of got overshadowed :(

I never owned a 64 D:

*Finds the rom*

So.. hard.. Can't find sword o.<

Go down out of your treehouse, run straight to the right until you're near the end of Kokiri woods, take a left and run up to a slightly elevated area with a bunch of fences, and go to the wall in front of you. There will be a hole there. Through the hole is a maze. The sword is on the upper left corner of the maze, I believe.

And that's from memory :P

Best game ever. I played it through for the second time earlier this year. The final boss is still fantastically awesome. Getting the ice arrows is possibly my favourite moment though. XD

OOT is just a small step below ff7 in my opinion. and anything near ff7 to me is a god created masterpiece that will continue to shine on the gaming world for the rest of its life.

OMG! I love you! ^_^

I spent so long looking for that dam sword, now i can actually play ^_^!

Gerudo Valley, Gerudo Fortress, the Desert and Spirit Temple were ****ing winner.

Shadow Temple and The Well still give me the creeps. :|

I must be the only person in existence that didn't like Ocarina of Time. :|

Meh, maybe it's just because it's not really my type of game.

Even though, I quite liked Majora's Mask... it kept you on your toes due to the time limit.

Ya know.. when all you've ever played are linear fps games...
This game is haaard >_>

Absolutely. Majora's Mask was an excellent game. Fantastic, even. The atmosphere, characters, and enemies were like nothing I've ever seen. Plus, the game had much darker undertones than OoT. Still, there's something about Ocarina that just makes it so much better...

Also, if anyone else needs help, feel free to ask :D

Whoever said roms were legal?! O_O

Especially N64 ones... they still sell the games over here... and I've seen boxes full of SNES and Genesis games too.

Plus, I'd imagine N64 games would be a real bitch to control with a keyboard(unless you can use your mouse?)

It's actually pretty easy
I use asdw and the arrow keys
(And the del, end, page down keys for inventory items)

And ha, i guess they are illegal XD Didn't know

You can use your mouse. I personally just hook up a controller and use that.

Bwah!? How do you hook up a N64 controller or for that matter any console controller to your comp.?

Edit: Some of you wan't a link to a decent Rom site; PM me.

there are special USB devices you can buy to convert the controller. or you can just buy a standard USB controller (which is what I think he was referring to)

Best game ever. Period.

I have a logitech USB controller that works perfectly with most N64 emulators. And I do have a screenshone of the last boss at my knees (needless to say, a spoiler for those who didn't play the game, if there are such people).

I just use a standard USB controller, although there were some N64 USB Controllers sold once. Else you can just pick up a nice wired 360 controller if you really like them.

I just got the mario 64 rom from that site... and there are a bunch of files in it. How do I know which to use?

I think if you have multipe files, they are all the same game, but for different regions, so go with the one with "(E)" at the end.

ok. well there is

Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [!].z64
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [b1].z64
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [b2].z64
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [h1C].z64
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [o1].z64
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [t1].z64
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [t2].z64
