yeah, generally the more effective the drug is the worse the crash is (in other words, dextroamphetamine makes me crash the hardest too). i will absolutely not take it if i don't have a lot of weed to soften the come down with, which works pretty well for me.

when i was like 4 my teacher thought i had ADD, and she was a great supporter of Ritalin.

i got checked out, i didn't have ADD. no Ritalin for me.

so just caffeine.

Yeah, I'm guessing the doctor gave you a positive diagnosis for "being four" when the teacher lost patience with you and thought you needed to be drugged into submission ;)

I kid of course. When I was young, Ritalin helped keep me fiddlin' :)

I've never taken any actual medicine to help me concentrate. If I need to do something I just do it, but if I don't need to, chances are I'll be doing something useless like gaming or browsing wikipedia.
Example: Three weeks of holiday over Easter, 5 assignments, and I did ****-all work. Get back to uni with my assignments spread over the week and I practically didn't sleep the entire 5 days. Those five days though I was almost solidly working. Used a lot of energy (barely over it now, about a week later), but got the job done. Pretty sure I've got decent grades, so yeah, worth it, but I should have started earlier.

I would totally take concentration supplements, but something is just stopping me doing it. The same thing that's stopping me doing weed I guess. I get along fine without them, so why take them is my view.
