Officer pulls gun on 7-year old!

There has to be way more to this than just an insurance violation and other misdemeanors........plus i guarantee the little girl was being a bitch...put the friggen barbie down

Well duh Ty... I would be freaking out too if I had a cocked gun aimed at me.

This is exactly what I think of cops. I had a civic class in high school and the teacher tried to convince us cops were good. Cops are not good, they are oppressive like the combine. They raise your insurance and do stupid things like this. I've heard multiple stories of my friends eating at McDonalds at like 10PM in their car. 1 cop car comes which leads to the entire fleet of cop cars. They suspect you have pot and arrest you and do a strip search on you just because they, "suspect". Cops are really assholes and I really did'nt praise cops after 9/11 and I still don't. *Oh and she can never win the lawsuit. Why? Because they will say that the officer didn't know who was back in the car, EVEN THOUGH ITS SO GODAMN APPARENT ITS A MOM WITH HER KIDS!

So all cops are bad is what your saying? I assume if you had your way there wouldnt be any cops and we would just rely on peoples good nature not to commit any crimes. Stop going to McDonalds when your drunk and under the legal age and your friends have pot.

You sir... are a moron.

The police have helped me out on more than one occasion, and I assure you, most cops are good people. Its just a few who are idiots and asswipes. The reason you are so disillusioned about them is probably because your friends only tell the stories of jack asses and not of the good people who save lives.

GTFO

Aye, Fight the Power!

I have never had any problems with the police in my local area and have never had anything but very good opinions of them...the problem for me is that the police aren't tough enough and are far too shackled and i'm sure the huge majority of them do feel that their hands are proverbily tied in the majority of situations. And also, from my experience with people who don't like the cops, it's more a case of them being the sort of people who a) distrust any sort of authority, and/or b) have been in trouble with the police in the past.

What i don't trust though, due to the huge amount of news stories and reports i've heard are the American state troopers and the local law enforcement in the out of the way towns and places around America.

We don't know both sides of the story as too what happened or why or even if the police man did what he is reported to of done, so i'm going to wait till his story comes in before passing judgement on anyone.

Well put, couldnt agree more.

98% of cops are jerks. I always hear the story of a quiet town and the cops have nobody to police around. So if something pops up they get all excited that something is going on and before you know it, the entire fleet is there. I have rarely met a cop that is'nt in your face. You don't drive much or get out much do you? And your friends don't have to do anything but just eat a burger in a parking lot and they get suspicious.

I agree with Tyguy. Take New Orleans for example, rapes, gang killings and all. Total anarchy without at least some sort of organized law enforcement. And you still think cops are bad? I know a few stories that cops are actually corteous with people but when these jackasses respond to them thinking its cool to defy authority they get tickets or cops get pissed, and then get all moany because the cop responded to that. ITS SIMPLE IF YOU DON'T WANT TROUBLE DON'T LOOK FOR IT, DON'T EAT McDONALDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, AFTER ALL THEY HAVE A ESTABLISHMENT AND SEATS FOR THAT. I can't judge anything from this article I want to hear cops side of the story.

I'd say it's a half and half situation. Two weeks ago cops beat the shit out of my friend because he wouldn't give the name of people that ran and got away at a party they busted.

But then the next week they busted another party, which was in far worse shape legally than the one the previous week, and just said "Come on keep it down from now on and we're taking the minors home but won't give them tickets or tell their parents"

Who would wanna be a cop anyways? You gotta deal with people who might have guns, crackheads, etc. You sit in a car all day eating and drinking Dunkin Donuts. And then if you get lucky, a car might pass by thats going too fast and make the person's day miserable.

For the most part, cops play an important role in society. It's just that some of them are c*ntbags.

Wow, good statistic. I wonder how you got that... I know you couldn't have just pulled it out of your ass.

Like I said before, you only hear the bad stories. You hear what makes people angry and refuse to see that most of the police force is a good bunch of people.

And way to make a personal attack on me! Certainly shows your maturity. I have lived in many places and I have never had a real problem with a police officer. Yes, I have been the target of sucspicion before. On multiple occasions in fact. They are just doing their job. Their job requires them to be more suspicious than an average person, because it is they who need to keep the entire area safe. Just because they may suspect something going on does NOT mean they are jerks. Its their job to check out ANYTHING suspicous.

I too would think that some kids eating McDonalds IN THE CAR, OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT would be suspicious. The restaurant has seating for people to eat inside... why would someone choose to eat in a car? Why not go inside someone's house to eat? Sit outside?

In case you havent noticed, a lot of people sit in their car with the windows up so they can smoke pot or do some other drugs... so thus when you see a bunch of hungry kids eating mcdonalds at 10pm in a car... would you not have even a slight suspicion?

That slight suspicion is what a police officer must work on... because if he doesnt check it out, and something happens, it is his fault. You may not realize it yet, but the police are here to protect the community, and in order to do that they must investigate anything even slightly out of place. You and your friends need to stop taking it so personally and realize that its their job.

Oh, I don't know, maybe a sense of justice, honour, decency and a desire to make the world a better place?

Maybe?

The fact that he was "unable to comment" just means he didn't have much of a different view of what happened. I know if there was something wrong with the persons testimony, I'd tell them how it really was. "No Comment" means they are either trying to hide from it, or have nothing different to say....or they really WERENT around for comment..but how often is that?

You've never heard of prejudice?

The NON asshole thing to do would be to leave them alone. That's not a crime where the community needs protection. I've seen situations with cool cops where they'll find everybody high and something and just verify that no one is going to drive that night and just be on their way or post up by the house to wait to see if anybody does.

The assholes bust in, see that, then search everyone and cause a large fuss. If they get a chance they'll rough you up get a few hits in or whatever.

It's a big difference too and like I said it's a half and half situation. Cops might be cool and use common sense in enforcement or they might be on a power trip and just be abusive.

The worst situations come out when both parties are in the wrong. Ego Vs. Powertrip. Like Rodney King. He's a dumb**** for what he did, the cops are idiots for beating him senseless with 5 nightsticks. Bad situation.

Some cops are dicks. Most aren't.

It's not like when you become a cop you automatically get indoctrinated in 'be an asshole' training.

What? They are in a car. What idiot would just assume that they arnt going drive?

Lets put it this way. If you are a police officer, and for whatever reason, you think that there are people that are high... and in a car, would you just let them be? Let them drive off while unable to think clearly or properly? If it were me, I would call one of their parents and have them be picked up. That way they are in no trouble with the law... pose no threat to the community since they wont be driving... and their parents will deal with them accordingly.

And believe it or not... I have had a couple friends in such a situation where they were just let off with a warning and had either the cop himself or their parents drive them home.

Okay well you'd be a cop that's a pain in the ass for no reason. People are usually parked for a while if they're planning on hotboxing.

Since the cop is already posted up there just wait for them to start up then pull them over. Rather than harassing someone who's not doing anything wrong and even if you don't cite them you ruin their day.

OFFICER, ARREST THESE PEOPLE FOR EATING.

No, dumbass. People eating - even if it is outside a god damn McDonald's - is not suspicious enough to think they're stoned, erego it's not suspicious enough to warrant a search. Hell, given the choice, I'd eat in my car because I hate being inside McDonald's and because I can talk about things with my friends without having to worry about people around me. Not because I'm planning to inject my eyeballs with smack and let rip on the freeway.

It is not the police's business to feel me up and pry into my life because "OH DUR, DEM KIDS ARE ACTIN' SLIGHTLY STRANGE". That's outright retarded.

I'd eat in the car for the same reasons that Absinthe posted.

Kids in McDonald's are little shits, and then the elderly observe you and let's not get started on the ****ing smell of the restaurants.

Oh god.

Yeah I went to a Journey/Def Leppard concert on Saturday. The concert got out at 11PM and I ate Mcdonalds. But I went back to the car and ate it there because I wanted to listen to my Journey cd's. Should a cop have arrested me there? Do you think after having fun at a concert I should be strip searched? The only times I have ever seen a cop is being pulled over. And the only time I have seen a good cop is doing oil changes at Jiffy Lube.
