Official Bad Company 2 thread - no beta talk here!

Login problems for teh suck. I wanna play but I can't. Might as well try the single player campaign then.

Try running your exe (steam or bc2's, or both maybe?) as administrator. I have to do that in order for me to see any servers and to be able to log in.

I dont like hardcore mode much. I like the damage better, but thats about it really. Actually, I think the damage may be a tad to high. I dont like it how i can get killed by someone shooting a pistol from far away and they land a lucky shot and im instadead.

Supposedly it is a general problem. Lots of other people are having the same problem. Just check the EA forums (if you can get it to load; it is kinda busy atm).

The singleplayer was okay from what I have seen so far. Mindless running and gunning really, but entertaining.
 
Hmm... maybe I should indeed wait a bit with buying the PC version, seeing as it's filled with connection problems etc. right now, and buy a month of Live instead.

Oh and I'll ask again - to those who played both SP and MP - do you get less fps in either, or is the performance roughly the same?
 
I have a GIGANTIC problem with mouse smoothing in the game. It makes it almost unplayable. Smooths it to the point where it takes me longer to turn the other way.

Example: I move my hand from left to right 10 cm and it moves like normal, but then when I want to turn back, it takes 15-20 cm to turn it completely.

Damn it.

It is release weekend, go figure. I am expecting things to smooth out in the next couple of days. Remember the first week of BF2?

I'd say performance is roughly the same for sp and mp.

I called this about a month ago. They have problems every single release. Interestingly enough it has worked fine on the 360 version.
 
this is bullshit, the first few days of issues is fine, I can understand that, but what the **** is wrong with this company?

I like shooting with the Type 88 semi-automatic rifle (with sights, no scope) in single player. How many rounds does it take in multi player to drop an enemy? Seems like a fun role to play as recon, the rifle as close-medium range weapon and C4 to blow shit up.
 
I don't get the big deal with this game. It LOOKS good, but so did Bad Company 1. The singleplayer was amazing but the multiplayer was a confusing cluster**** which really ruined the game for me. Is the second one improved at all?
 
Never played the first, but if the SP was anything like it is in BC2, then you're smoking some good shit if you think it was "amazing."

The big deal about this game is that its like battlefield 2, only better. If you never got to experience BF2, then I dont know how to explain why this game is so great.
 
This game still doesn't compare to 1942 or Battlefield 2. Hopefully Battlefield 3 will be PC exclusive and the game we've been waiting for.

Do you have v-sync enabled? This causes mouse lag.
 
I'm officially hooked on BC2.
played way too much tonight
seriously, get some friends together, form a strong squad and run over a server....tons o' fun

Play it in Windows XP, I had problems aiming too in Windows 7(or whatever OS you're using).

can't wait to play later tonight. glad i finally get an entire night to devote to this game. i do not want to stop and this game was just a much fun as the 1st but more people seem to have it this time around
 
This game is so amazing on so many levels, the battles are very cinematic and action packed. I picked up a dead guys sniper kit, and i killed 17 people without dying. Just popped head after head after head. Orgasmic
 
i still can't ****ing log in...it tells me it's unable to login, i retry, then it says ive been disconnected due to multiple sign ins....bravo.

Amazing in terms of the amount of destruction you could do, as well as the humor. Laughed my ass off when I drove a golf cart around tons of tanks and APC's.


Only played BF2 singleplayer. On the original xbox. I didn't have Live back then, so yea......

BF2 wasn't on the Xbox. that was Modern Combat, which was pretty terrible. broken to **** as well.

you can't say you can't see what the big deal about this game is if you haven't played it.

Aim for the head. Got 19 kills and a knife before dying with my engi SMG on the first point of Arica Harbour on a normal Rush server :D. Hardcore is alright I suppose but I hate it on Conquest but then I hate Conquest in general.
 
i can't say i ever had any problems dropping 2/3 people in the original BC.

what's the deal with the starting weapons in BC2? i've seen a lot of videos of peoples first games spawning with that russian AK or whatever it is. are factions weapons universal now?
 
Yupp, both teams have the same weapons, which i dont mind.
 
Anyone played squad deathmatch yet? HOLY FUCK. Best gamemode ever. This is not just plain old boring deathmatch, this is 4v4v4v4, tight co-operation with your squad (ideally). It's fun trying to occupy a building with your squad and to see it slowly reduced to rubble by 40mm grenades and RPGs. Playing recon here is great too, you feel like a one-man army, sniping folks, finishing them off with the pistol or a quick stab to the face and blowing up the single tank in the level with C4, sometimes with an entire enemy squad inside.

What an amazing game. I'd say the infantry combat and feel is on par with MW2's, except that I think that BC2 is more susceptible to lag. Probably because bullets are not hit-scan (a great plus) making lag compensation harder as bullets are moving things.
 
Funny, considering the PC version is a port lolol
 
I've gotta say, for being a multiplatform game, and for being a sequel to a console only game, this turned out to be probably the best example of how to do a multiplatform game where each version is excellent, and not just a shit port.
 
agreed, I haven't had any problems with it related to being a bad port.

I do wish the server browser would populate the list as it goes instead of having to wait like a minute an a half to get all the servers.
