Official Bad Company 2 thread - no beta talk here!

PC almost has more people playing (when I last checked) than PS3 and Xbox combined. The issue is if your PC can handle it. It has been getting better in terms of stability and framerate for me at least, but it still doesn't run as fast as other recent games that rely on video cards more than processing power. If you have a good processor you'll be good though.
 
Well I'll find out if it runs when steam finishes downloading it in an hour or so.

So any server recommendations?

But no one is on it yet, but I can use to piss about sorting out my setting.
 
Yeah even with the name change the server remains empty. I'm not sure why. I guess it takes people to get people so it perpetuates emptyness. There are crazy numbers of servers out there though and you can't really go wrong in deciding which one... but I sure wish there was some kind of filter for hardcore or not hardcore...
 
Hardcore is like the hardcores from other games (like CoD) where you have minimal hud and less health. I think it's like 65ish health instead of 100. Basically means anytime anyone snipes you, ya die. Some people like it thought. I might one day when I can get past being sniped 400 times a second.

had some fun with unfocused today until mine crashed. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm out of practice but it seemed like my guns were doing nothing to the enemy while theirs were constantly killing me instantly

You crashed as well? Cause I had a CTD out of the blue. Wanted to let you know, but it seems I don't have you in the friends list on Steam (?).

I love patches. Sounds like good stuff. I kind of like that they're hiding the weapon tweaks. It'll be nice to try Wednesday.
 
I seem to get knifed all the time, usually right after I've put about 5 machine gun bullets into the guys chest too.

You should add me on steam friends unfocused.
 
I finished the SP and vomited throughout it. It was pretty darn awful in comparison to MW. But I wasn't under and delusions...I bought BC2 for the multi-player and it fulfils my fun quota entirely on that aspect.
 
Why do you guys all hate sp so much? It doesn't take itself too seriously
 
Storyline was sorta fine, it was a a good parody of MW2. But the pacing was horrendous.
 
AI stinks, missions are repetitive, story and characters are lackluster

i didn't find it too bad. it copied generation kill far better than modern warfare 2 did, and all over i could accept it a little more knowing it didn't take itself too seriously whereas MW2 did and was just laughably bad for it. this was laughably alright.
 
My issue is that the AI doesn't seem to do anything, plus all the enemies just seem to attack me and not my team mates.

But there a pov change? I feel like I'm close enough to my gun to make out with it.

Yeah but currently you gotta change it in this one file... I dunno what the file is but there are like 40 million posts on the internet about it.

We have a server till the end of April.
 
DLC for BC2, one camo per class per gun. Don't wanna use the M95? Too bad! You don't get camo!

Not only does it cost 440 MS Points (whatever that is in dollars), but you have to buy a pack of Dr. Pepper to get the code!

That's specifically for the xbox, it says it's coming to PS3 eventually and let's hope it's not as stupid as that.
 
New update is out

I noticed that the M60 got a recoil and accuracy nerf, I think they toned the damage down too. Nerfed the m203 and gustav too.

ncreased the base range of all Automatic and Semiautomatic weapons for more consistent close range combat.
Slightly increased the damage of Semiautomatic rifles over long range for more consistent damage output.

Increased the zoomed burst accuracy of LMGs and decreased LMG accuracy when moving to reduce LMG run and gun.
Decreased the base damage of the M60 and XM8 LMGs to bring them in line with the other LMG damage values.
Decreased the damage of the PKM over long range to balance it with other LMGs.
Increased the base damage of the Type88 LMG to balance it with other LMGs.

Slightly reduced the base damage of the M16 and G3 to balance the increased range.
Slightly increased the damage of the AEK971, F2000, AN94, and AUG over long range to balance them with other Assault Rifles.

Reduced the lethal blast range of the 40mm grenade and M2CG to highlight their role as a secondary weapon against infantry.

These are interesting to me. I don't understand the point of the repair tool thing. Faster repair? Was repairing too slow before? I didn't really think so.

They attack helicopters will now be much less reasonable for people to jump in. You'll have to have a good pilot and a good gunner to get more than a kill or two before you get taken out.

There are so few AA guns though, I don't see how improving them is useful. In the maps where there's a lot of air power... there's little or no AA to begin with.

edit: It's also way more fun to shoot down things without a tracer dart... Now you can basically always carry around the RPG7 and a tracer for all your anti-aircraft needs.

great bugfixes and tweaks but GOD DAMMIT I knew they were gonna nerf everything I love. It makes sense to nerf the m60, 40mm and CG but I wish they would have left my vehicle reload time specialization alone :(

I didn't think it was overpowered . . .
