Official Bad Company 2 thread - no beta talk here!

I really had fun with this game but not being able to play it above 30 fps is a bummer. I know its my own problem but hopefully I can get a new pc soon to enjoy it in all its gloriousness.

Well, they very clearly reskinned the Blackhawk to look like a Huey....and....the music...n stuff...

Also, Hanoi Jane sounds like they recycled the same audio files from BF:V...

My thoughts exactly. I booted up BF:V to check , and they did.

But thats fine, if they are also brining back the epically large maps and Fighter Jets! :)
 
Sounds are recycled ALL the time, even in films. The woman that talks on the radio for the cops is the same voice and same line in so many damn films. She just says a bunch of numbers in a muffled radio voice so the audience instantly know its a police radio.

I havent got any issues with recycled sounds, if they work, why not?

Plus, this is Dice we're talking about. Theyve taken the old and made it better every time. Theyre becoming legends in the BF series. You just know it will be awesome. Their engine alone is one of the better engines out there.
 
i don't think they'll include fighter jets. at least i hope they don't, anyway. if they can balance them just right then sure, i'm all for it but it means having to make maps twice as large for air space which means a drastic chance to the mechanics of bad company, and considering it has been built up for smaller skirmishes, i don't see it happening.

still, there's plenty of time between now and winter so maybe, who knows.
 
A lot of much needed changes. This looks like a good patch.
 
Indeed. As per usual in a DICE game the knife hitboxes are horrible, so I'm glad to see them try to improve that.
 
I've stopped using the knife since the last update, just fails on so many occasions. Tried it again today and it took 3 stabs to actually get the guy.

Hopefully my knife will see some more action after the update. I wanna bag me some gold dogtags!
 
You know what I love about BC2? Being one of 12 medics on a team and yet I'm the only one out of the 12 who actually throws down health packs and revives people. So while all the other rambo medics are running around sniping, snipers with their MG3's and 4x scopes I'm here with light weight equipment and improved health kits sprinting around reviving everyone and racking up literally thousands of points a round.
 
Looks like this patch is going to need a patch. It introduced lag and a big ****ing annoying chat box.
Ugh, just horrible.
 
Good to see this game is just as buggy as it was months ago when I stopped playing.

i got bored with this game and went back to tf2...workin on earning some hats
 
All of us that own it now have access to the hybrid COD6/BC2 beta of Medal of Honor. It's supposed to be majorly bug ridden with no recoil whatsoever.
 
I could swear I heard that the PS3 was getting something exclusive for MoH. A beta access or demo.

The towel has been thrown in, I can't play this game anymore. It was fun while it lasted but the sheer volume of bullshit has just sapped me of any interest I had to keep playing. I'm sick of grenade spam, Carl Gustav spam, 40MM spam, M60 Medics who don't heal or revive, 1337 Snip3rs who never use motion sensors and sit on their asses 10 miles away while they call in artillery to try and kill another 1337 Snip3r, Assault who hoard all the ammo so they can spam grenades over a piece of geometry, Engineers who never repair a god damned thing, people who waste the helicopters just so they can get to that 1337 snip3r hiding spot, that everyone else uses, first, and other annoying shit, but you get my point.

Holy shite , what kind of servers have you been playing on?. i mainly play on ps3 but i always find people reviving me , giving me ammo , fixing my tank , going on strafing runs in the havoc heli to get rid of tanks etc. its still a LOT of fun.
 
Shame DICE didn't include mod tools otherwise we'd have a COD4 Promod equivalent that would disable M60's and grenade launchers and all the other noobish stuff.
 
grenades are seriously under powered in comparison to cod and 40mm is great for breaking down cover and flushing people out.

People just don't know how to avoid them. CG is a bit accessive however.

i started playing this again today now that i have xbox live back and without my friends online, it's not as fun as i remember it. that said, i just suck right now and i also haven't downloaded the latest patches and map pack which might explain why the servers are so empty, but i'm gonna crack on because i loved it earlier this year.
 
I never had any problem with the grenade launchers. People get pissed because they think its a cheap kill, but its not nearly used enough to be considered 'nade spam.' The CG is though.

I just wish there was a decent alternative for the grenade launcher. The other options are just ****ing useless.
 
I don't have a problem with the 40mm as a last resort weapon or usong it for destruction but its annoying when people run around with it as their primary weapon and make no attempt to skillfully play.

I dispute that the 40mm is an unskilled weapon. Taking out a running enemy halfway across the map or in the window of a lighthouse with one grenade fired on a well judged angle of trajectory while under fire requires a lot more 'skill' than hiding behind a rock, looking down a scope and pulling the trigger when somebody passes under a crosshair.

What's more, cheats can't use the 40mm because the projectiles are too slow, which is why they seem to bitch about it more than most players when they get wasted by one. What's more more, 40mm grenades have very little splash damage compared to every other explosive weapon in the game and so require a high degree of accuracy. The slowness of loading and the small number of grenades carried add even more penalties, making it nowhere near the magical instagib noobtube everyone seems to have it slated as.

The only thing that needs nerfing imo is the stupidly overpowered gustav, now THAT is a noobtube.
