Official Half-life 2 Rant Thread

Use this thread to say whatever you think about Half-life 2, ATI, NVIDIA, or anything else related.

DO NOT ARGUE WITH SOMEONE....it takes a whole lot to change an opinion....just rant and DO NOT ARGUE. You can rant about someone else's rant....but don't call them names.

Also, do not reply and say "wow another pointless thread" or "what is the point of this thread?"

My rant:

Obviously the videos look good. ATI is better. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 3 Ti200 right now but plan on getting one of the 128MB ATI 9800's. It is not because of Nvidia and the whole AA issue...its because the 9800 is the fastest and highest-performance card ever...for now. I am not a freaking "fanboy."

And by the way: if you call someone a fanboy it obviously reveals that you are a FANBOY because you were offended that the other guy didn't have YOUR OPINION.

I will be buying HL2 the day the game comes out. Mods will be ready then too!

Oh, and by the way....I really feel sorry for all of those other stupid games (besides Doom 3 and Halo 2, to name a few) that are coming out this fall. You know how its going to be: 10 new WW2 games that suck (only BF1942 and MOH games were good...Call of Duty is coming), then you have to have the obligitory reality show game (Survivor), plus your usual MMROPG (or whatever) where you just run around a stupid field and you cant kill anyone (or if you can you have to take turns...retarded), then you have the usual "100 greatest games" $9.99 cd that always for some reason has Doom on it.

Anyway, I had to get that off my chest. I am so tired of going down the PC games aisle and seeing crap...(look at the Gamespot review for "Gods and Generals" and you won't stop crapping your pants and laughing!).

HL2 is going to freaking sell so many. Maybe people will, this time, show appreciation for the single-player game that Valve created.....and not go make mods right off the bat.....

Is this game going to be the greatest of all time? Goldeneye 007 was at one point....then Zelda: Ocarina of Time....and somewhere around 1998 Half-life....these are only my opinion...Zelda is the only game like it that I have ever played...Perfect Dark was a let down

Its not the official anything. But it didnt seem like a rant tbh more like a valid opinion.

Maybe people will, this time, show appreciation for the single-player game that Valve created.....and not go make mods right off the bat.....

Like HL1 doesnt get appreciation? 50 awards? Modding is a major part of the HL scene i dont think you can really expect to not have a barrage of crap mods for the first few months before they evolve into something half way decent. I expect loads of mods right off the bat and some of the mod makers wont even play the single player game before they churn out a mod. Dunno how they expect their mod to be good when they dont even experience the engine in its most origional form.

EDIT: You will never stop knobs replying to thread no matter how much you try. Its a public forum so public oppinions get posted, its just a pity that some of the public enjoys posting stupid shit.

true, a few people i know had never heard of half-life but had somehow played counter-strike.... version 1.5 or before...strange

and you know what? this is actually a post with good potential but you people with nothing else to do but put people down (ON THE INTERNET....) have to ruin it and now some moderator is going to lock this....thats how idiocy works...

Half-Life 2 is going to be the best game of it's genre. I like mmorpg's they are fun games, and they aren't all turned based. That's kind of an ignorant comment to call them retarded when you obviously haven't played one.
