OMG haha

Man i was born in the wrong country!! haha Americans get all the fun :P
hehe, it is kinda sick though, the young girl behind the SAW MG!! :S

EDIT:
thats a 30cal right :S?

This has been posted many times before...there is also a thread for this where im sure it has been posted a few times there as well.

Knob Creek is a lot better than the Oklahoma one.

There's some cool ones here in Arizona sometimes.

Has ... anyone ever seen an MG42 rip off rounds? 1,200 rounds a second?

Never ... heard that in person. Hate to be on the receiving end for that one.

1200 rounds a second?!!?! thats so bs. Even for an MG42 that is just way to fast. If that was the truth, then how come in DoD i don't waste all 280 rounds(or somewhere around that amount) in .25 of a second.

He means minute.

Lol, 1200 a second.

It's possible, not with an MG42 though

Ya I know. They have those multi-barreled machine guns and what not.

Because DoD isn't realistic in the least?

It's not possible with a single barrel weapon however.

Multi barrel electricaly fired weapons can achieve this though.

Well I think the rate of fire for the guns is pretty accurate. The MG42 definitely doesn't shoot 1200 rounds a second because you only get about 280 rounds (x2)

The [Phalanx] gun subsystem employs a gatling gun consisting of a rotating cluster of six barrels. The gatling gun fires a 20mm subcaliber sabot projectile using a heavy-metal (either tungsten or depleted uranium) 15mm penetrator surrounded by a plastic sabot and a light-weight metal pusher. The gatling gun fires 20mm ammunition at either 3,000 or 4,500 rounds-per-minute with a burst length of continuous, 60, or 100 rounds.

Now someone just needs to find a pic of the gun with the highest rate of fire in the world.

That's good old Oklahoma for you. Any parent that would let me shoot a 30 cal is good in my book.

Who is getting hurt in there, stern? Who is dying? I didn't even see a human-shaped TARGET.

It's a good thing I'm not CptStern's son.

1200 in a minute he meant..
20 rounds per second, you'd empty 280 rounds in 14 seconds.

No computer game other than Red Orchestra has realistically simulated an MG42 before.

This is what Short Recoil was referring to. It's a version of the gun with the fastest RoF in the world: up to a million rounds per minute. It's called Metal Storm, it's not quite completed yet, and it's f*cking terrifying.

Ahh yeah, saw a video on that thing. Amazing.

How? At all? My parents showed me how to operate firearms and safety at a young age and I'm glad they did. Going somewhere like that would've been a hell of a treat, especially as a little kid it'd be like getting to see the fireworks on July 4th times 500.

Hence the MG42 was almost always fired in bursts, never like in DoD full-auto all the time.
The barrels got overheated very easily due to the enormous firerate and gass if im correct.

DoD is pretty realistic but NOT in these sorts of things. There's a line thats called "game balance".
The real MG42 firing sound is pretty funny is sounds like a pumped up version of a long fart (thats how fast the rof is :P)

Oh, man thats ****ING AWESOME! Perhaps I'll be able to do that in 5 more years. (Conscription)

I agree completely. As amazing and exciting it looks to me, no child should ever be near those firearms let alone be taught to operate them. ****ing retarded weapon culture.

I disagree. I'm of the opinion that gun safety should be taught at an early age, and no lesson in gun safety would be complete without a lesson in proper operation.

What exactly do you mean by "weapon culture?"

it just pisses me off that fire arms in the us are looked upon as some sort of birth right. I don't want to get into the whole guns aren't bad, people are discussion but for god's sake, a little girl firing a machine gun! some things you just don't start early with.

yeah i'd say a 30cal is a "little over the top" if you're refering to "gun safety".
A regular person/kid does not need to know how military weapons fire, and/or have experience with them :P

Do you know why we have the 2nd Amendment?
Sure people have sort of forgotten over the year and we've just grown to like guns, but still, there's nothing wrong with it. So long as they are used safetly, guns are some of the most fun things in the world. Besides, if more children were taught gun safety at a young age there would be fewer incidents of children accidentally shooting someone. The problem comes when parents neglect to tell them about their firearms and how to safely operate them.

This man speaks the truth.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Nobody should know anything about guns. At least in America/Japan/other countries anyway.

Nice post i found while googling, says it all:

The Americans value their constitution and the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment deals with the right to bear arms. Here is the price that ordinary Americans are paying for the privilege

- 8 children a day die in murders, suicides and accidents involving guns

- since John F. Kennedy was assinated more Americans have died from gunshot wounds at home than died in all the wars of the 20th century

- Osama bin Laden would need at least nine twin towers like attacks each year to equal what Americans do to themselves every year with guns.

- Murder rates in LA, NY and Chigago were approaching the hightest in the world (30 per 100,000) until moves were made in late 20th century to restrict access to guns to teenagers. (The NRA wants these moves reversed)

If Osama bin Laden had had more sense, instead of launching a terrorist attack, he would simply have provided financial backing to the NRA.

Here are the latest gun death figures for 2001, which are the latest available, as published by the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the US government agency that monitors these things.) Rate column is deaths per 100,000 of population.
LINK

Its not accidents, its murder. Its pretty hard having a "drive-by knifing" if you know what i mean :P
Although i must say some boyish dreams i have involve owning an MG42 and/or other amazing firearms, upon society its not such a good idea.

ps, compare these numbers with other countries homicide-rates in the developed world...

And the 2nd amendment of the US constitution sucks. Firearms protecting against totalitarian states? Pfft. Evil dissidents.

EDIT: This was not sarcasm btw.
