Recently, I went to a LAN party in my dorm. A couple of the guys there were playing Doom3 and UT2k4, the usual multiplayer games that you would see people playing at a LAN party. A couple of guys that I knew decided to fire up CS: Source. I was really excited because I had only seen videos over the internet of it and I was excited to see the new Source engine at work first hand.

Let me tell you, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A GAME ENGINE THAT IS MORE DETAILED THAN SOURCE IN ALL MY YEARS OF GAMEPLAY. They were playing the office map, and I almost shit my pants when I saw that you could shoot a computer, and the mother board and harddrives popped out. The detail is just incredible. The graphics are incredible. Seeing this just made me long for HL2. I don't care if you flame me for posting this, I am amazed. HL2 and Source are the future of gaming. Take this from a person who usually HATES CS, once seeing this, I can't wait to play CS:Source and HL2 on my PC,

PS: At this same LAN party, they were playing a leaked version of Halo2. All I saw was the multiplayer, but it really didn't impress me all that much. It was pretty much the first Halo's Mp with a few improvements in graphics and weapons. Nothing to be too excited about. They have hyped it up so much, that I was really disappointed in it.

too bad everything is fake, investigate the reflections, and in spec mode, the maps. Nothing makes any sense.

reflections arent fake. They are in fact real time but valve set them to be updated at a slow rate due to hackers.

in case you hadn't noticed, they make no sense, they are like pictures. Plus the shadows (along with everything else) are random.

It is as far from real life as possible, when I play, I think it is a Alpha

Depends on your system, if your system supports it, then it will indeed be able to show certain things, reflections and such.

Either your stuck in dx8 or your in dx9 with real time reflections not enabled. They are indeed real time. Does your game show player and map reflections in aztec's water? If not than thats why.

Shadows arent random they are based on a single universal 'sun' light source.
