OMG! PS3 teH br0kEn!!!

I think I'll stick to PC gaming... After many years without a console(PS1 was my last) I was thinking about getting a XBOX360 or a PS3... but after reading this thread, the consoles don't seem so "solid" anymore...

What about all the XBOX 360s and the red lights of death?, people say XBOX 360s failure rate is really high now, but since I don't have one I can't really say, anyways it seems that Nintendo is the only one without this reputation of bad quality consoles...
the percentage of 'broken' xbox360's is 3% which is lower then the industry standard.

didn't the ps2's have something ridiculous like 30% and they charged you around $100 to have it fixed/replaced ? while ms do it free and you can have a new console within a day.

all the rubbish floating around the net (especially when they launched) was just a few small cases being bloated and whored by anti-ms fans and [apparently] sony (they use all sorts of smear campaigns and other 'bad' tactics).

so, i don't know where the hell your source is for 'xbox360 failure rate is really high' and i'd like to know what it is.

so, microsoft doesn't have a bad reputation and nintendo does have a bad reputation (or did, it seems gamecube/ds are fine), don't get me starting on nes/snes problems.

So here's the proof that this is all a bunch of uneducated hooey. GameIndustry.biz has an article quoting many top developers stating that the recent Inquirer article is total crap. Here's a quote:

"They've got the wrong end of the stick grasped firmly in both hands," said another source regarding this claim. "I'm not even sure if they're holding the right stick."

Full Story.
