One Month to HL2 Release

This must be a very exciting time for every Half-Life fan out there, because as of today there is only one month left until Half-Life 2 will be released. The official release date appears to be September 30th like they promised. :eek:

half life is soo close that its not even funny.. just 4 weeks and 2 days.. and plus we are going to be overloaded with media and shit.. and dont forget the benchmark w00t...
 
Even if it is rushed, that's what Steam is for. :cheers:
 
The sad thing is, I'll be in school when HL2 is released, I won't be able to enjoy it for the summer.

If I drop out/skip school, then I'll only be weakining my chances at working at Valve. If I work at Valve(In 6 years I hope) I can give u the latest scoop on HL3!

Im excited to the minimum. if it come out sep 30th and i get it 3 days after, then i will be excited, if not... im getting a plane ticket to America *wink wink*
 
Well .. finally the day is coming... i worked 50hours per week the hole damn summer to have enough $$$ ( 5700$ ) for my new computer and a big trip with my friend in Spain ... My comp is coming soon!

I'M READY FOR HALF-LIFE2 :D

Just curious, How much of that actually went your your comp? Hopefully not the entire thing! Did you build it yourself? I have finally started ordering my parts, it comes to about 2,300 (rounded up).
 
my PC was 5 grand and ive had it for nilly 11 months, pre built and shipped, runs like a dream and i dont need to upgrade ever again muah ;)

i got everything with it, desk, speakers you know :p
 
I'm not doing it for gaming. I'm using it as an editing machine. I need it to be fast. I'll be running RAM hungry software, Photoshop, Afteraffects, etc.
 
im going to pick up hl2 on day 1, as soon as the stores open. i have a friend who works at a video game store, so im sure ill get a nice discount on the special edition version (if even one) :) if not, atleast ill get a copy held for me without preordering it.

and of course...30th is on a tuesday so ill be skipping school ;x

damn...so close, yet so ****ing far away >_<
 
5k is way to much in my opinion. You coulda saved yourself at least a thousand if you built it. What brand is it?
 
Guys... lol!!! i'm not going to waste 5700$ on my PC eheh... I have 5700$ in the bank right now .... I will take around 2500$ for my PC and 3200$ for my trip in Spain with my friend! lol 5000$ for a PC hehehe :)

thing is, alot of these companies should have polls installed.... you know how they say, how did you hear from us? when say buying off newegg.com they should have a, are you buying this becuase you are upgrading for hl2... i swear hl2 is racking in wayyy more gross than any normal month for the computer hardware industry just becuase of its release
 
ha, I took off of work and school on Sept. 30th. Come to think of it, hope it's not to late to pre-order it.
 
i don't want to pre-order it, ima just show up at some store on sept 30th. and i'm 100% sure the 50 some retail stores that will be carrying it come that date one will not be sold out

anyone else despise media play?

What year are you graduating? What ever year that is its gonna have the most kids held back in the history if holding kids back.


o....wait....its just my school that does the whole "get a 2.0 or we're holding you back" thing.........

well.......the schools that do that will have tons-o-kids held back.

You're probably not gona get the game on the 30th unless you buy from Steam.
 
jeez... never thought of that........ most retailers hold the game for a day. i pre-ordered enter the matrix and i got it on the 16th.... oh god... NOT OCTOBER 1st. Halo is old. HL2 is new.

Yeah, If I had to pick between Halo and Halflife 2. I would go with HL2. You would be dumb not too. Halo has the same sp and just an internet play now, nothing special. And oh yeah you get higher resoultions...Whoopdi do! Compared to HL2. Which has state of the art graphics, probaly gameplay and some kickass multiplayer. I bet ya it will be the Game Of The Year, but we will have to wait and see Doom 3. Anyways, HL2 is going to rock and I can't wait!
 
All the people talking about 5 years being a long dev time....this is a quite typical time for this sort of title. Other recent games that have taken 5 years.
