Our EVE Online Corporation

You want Diplomacy if you start getting a large negative standing from certain factions. For instance, I ran a lot of kill missions for Caldari Navy that had me killing Gallente forces, lowering my standing with them to about -5.0 (at that point they will shoot you when in their territory). I trained Diplomacy to 5 and did a little tutorial mission grinding, and while my actual standing with Gallente is still -4.64 or so, Diplomacy boosts that up to about -1.70, which is a standing I can live with. There are other cases where the skill has boosted me into positive standings with a faction. Without the skill, you're in for a long and tedious grind.

Profit from some L1 and L2 missions can indeed suck, but the missions do affect your NPC corp standing, which gives you other goodies. The more standing you grind, the quicker you can access higher quality agents and L3/L4 missions (which is where you really start getting a significant cashflow IMO). You will also gain more LP from missions, get higher mineral yields from refining at NPC stations, acquire jump clone access if the corp offers it, etc. If you're serious about raising faction standing, you should definitely invest time into the Connections skill and various other Social skills. Not only do they make it easier to acquire good standing, but you can pretty much skip L1 and maybe some L2 missions for other corporations if you ever start missioning for them since your default standing is raised significantly with all of them.

Also get a Noctis or even a Destroyer class ship and put a bunch of cargo expander's, salvager's, cargo optimization rig's, and a bunch of small tractor beam's. Salvage the place before you turn in the mission and sell or melt the stuff. Just like in RPG game where you find cruddy loot and sell it, you will get tons of revenue. Armor plates are worth a lot and in L4 missions you will find more because they come from BS. Tech 2 salvage is worth 1mil+ for each piece.

Honestly, looking at the Drake, it doesn't seem like it would be a bad ship to eventually buy... Even if it is boring, I wouldn't use it for lone combat; couldn't I just store it away as a logistics ship? It has a lot of cap power, armor, and shields, so doesn't that pretty much assure that I won't get blown up when assisting other ships? That's kind of what I am looking for in a future Logi Ship, is something that will surely protect me while assisting others, because I won't be able to do as much offensive.

Before you cross train for Caldari, you'll want to start flying a hurricane.

Though flying missions in a fleet with a logistics/command drake sounds very attractive.

No, no it doesn't sound attractive because the Drake doesn't provide any cap/shield or armor transfer bonuses at all. A good fleet ZT has a good support setup. Just like in TF2 you need medics in Eve. There are logistic ships and EWAR ships. Logistics can provide cap transfer, shield transfer and armor. EWAR jam enemy ships so they can't lock anything. However the bad part about both these roles are that 99.9999998454 of the time those people are the first people to get primaried in battle (shoot the Medic, not the Heavy Weapons Guy). It's crucial you keep an eye on your buddies repping you and the people that need reps.

The ultimate logistic ship is the Carrier class ship. These capitals have bonuses to how many drones they can carry (a lot) and most importantly can deploy Fighters. Fighters are like mini ships, hurt a lot and can warp off to continue killing their victims. Carriers are also very good are repping large structures and other Capitals. They can also carry vast quantities of stuff and ships.

Some players use them to do anomalies and complex's in 0.0 with their drones. The funny part about this though is that you can catch Carriers doing this by scanning them down. I remember in Consortium we almost took down a Carrier with Tech 1 cruisers. Too bad somebody didn't keep a lock on it.

Woot, accepted into uni after 4 days :p Now I have to wait to be resisted... Does anyone know if a corp/ EVE Uni will kick you out if you dont play for a month or two?

It depends what corp it is and how active they expect you to be!

If anything, just join my corp for glorious highsec inactivity!

Uemon, The Forge -- During the late hours of 113.02.14 a massive supercapital battle between Northern Coalition forces and the Eastern Block lead to the loss of 12 Titans. While the Northern Coalition forces (mainly Morsus Mihi, Razor, Mostly Harmless, Majesta Empire, Brick Squad and RAGE) fielded 18 titans, 45 supercarriers and 121 capital ships, the Eastern Block (mainly Red Alliance, White Noise, SOLAR FLEET, Raiden and Legion of xXDeathXx) had 14 titans, 85 supercarriers and 38 capital ships. Subcapital support fleets entered the system later.
Hardcore Eve players have no girlfriends? Also holidays are often used to invade or big battles happen.

H-PA29, Venal - Pandemic Legion had an estimated 50 billion ISK in assets stolen when now-former member Saint Schala became disgruntled with his corporation-mates on 03.02.113.

The loot is believed to be mainly spaceship hulls, with an estimated 32 dreadnoughts, 3 carriers and a number of advanced cruisers being claimed stolen.

Saint Schala said he also took all the wallet of the SniggWaffe corporation but gave it back on a second thought, explaining that he didn't wish the young pilots of Sniggwaffe to be helpless due to his actions.

Saint Schala sold the fruits of his heist back to S******dly for approximately 42 billion ISK, 8 billion ISK less than their real value.? "A trusted friend in PL acted as a middle man for negotiations," he explained.

With the 42 billion ISK proceeds from his successful heist against Pandemic Legion to sustain him, Saint Schala said he now plans to move to low security systems for a while and might join a corporation where other thieves have regrouped. He stated "I wouldnt expect anyone to give me access to large assets now, it doesn't bother me."

I do love Eve though.
