Everyone keeps telling me "OMG, I normally don't like emo but this is SOOO AWESOME", and I really don't see it. As far as I can tell, Panic! is just edgy pop mixed with some emo elements and borrowing a lot of its instrumentation and lyrical stylings from Fallout Boy. And, to be honest, the lyrics don't come off as edgy or really that intelligent, they just seem to be there to prove how smart and edgy the band is.

Your thoughts?

Totally disagree. They are a refreshing new band that the music industry desperately needed. Their mix of emo, techno, punk rock, and their own little twists form to create great freakin' music. I love every one of their songs. They change up, they're upbeat, they're interesting to listen to. Top it off with the fact that they look like a trippy modern version of the Beatles and you can't go wrong.

I like em :)

Fun music - taking the UK by storm right now..

Not my fave band though.

I have a good friend, who he used to be the most METAL!! person I knew. He would listen to Lamb of God and Mesuggah, he had long hair, and a little beard. He drank Jack Daniels.

Now he has a huge fringe, highlights, wears girl's jeans and a Famous t-shirt. He spends all day on myspace.

I blame Panic at the Disco

Haven't liked what i've heard so far :|

Give me some drop D heavy riffage from the master James Hetfield anyday! \m/

Hmm... from what I heard it sounds like another crappy pop band.

Pop/Emo/Indie/'Punk wanabe'

That sums em up imo

See I can't stand metal by and large, it just doesn't appeal to me..

Horses for courses!

Courses for horses!

:D

We're like the two polar opposites ain't we, you the smart 'indie' kid, me the scruffy metal head :E

Haha I'm scruffy but it's intentional ;)

And oh-so 'ironic' hahaha :D

Yea.. I have a few mates who are proper into their metal.. personally it's not for me :)

I think the music industry has been shoveling out this pap for the past several years, so I can't agree with you in calling the band "refreshing". They're capitalizing on the 'new' emo, which is basically pop-punk with whiny, quasi-intelligent lyrics thrown in. Not really original and not that good to begin with, in my opinion.

Although, if they do look like the Beatles on acid, I might have to buy a ticket the next time they put on a show in town :D.

I like them. What I don't like about them is their powerbeat, techno shit. Take that away and you got Fallout Boy. I mean the lead singers from both bands sound so alike. I thought Panic's first single was a new FallOut Boy song:laugh: .

My fav song is number 7, gets to the females. =P

When I first heard their song on the radio I thought it was Fall Out Boy too. haha

These seem to be all my school talk about at the moment. Luckily, like the Artic Monkeys, they'll be gone soon. Dragonforce, too. Argh, go away.

Noooo the Arctic Monkeys are quality, I'll defend that band to the end. They've definately got at least 1 more amazing album in em !

*agrees*

Orson is another very good band at the moment. Although they do seem to be coining in on the current style of music.

My wife and a lot of her friends are going nuts over this band and I can't stand it. All of them consider it a "guilty pleasure"... i consider it crap.

LOL.

My sister is in the exact same position, except she's 13 and she insists on broadcasting her guitly pleasure throughout the house via the shitty speakers attached to the computer. Good times.

The most infuriating part is when she attempts to make it blatantly obvious that she's "getting into" the music by tapping her toes and bobbing her head in a thoroughly self-conscious manner that practically begs for attention.

They're not this bad...you guys are slating them for an album which i must say is pretty damn strong for a first, i've listened through a few times and found some things i like in some of the tracks. They might not be your taste, but they're something subtly different. Overall i label them promising.

I'm pretty sure this isn't their first album. They've been around for awhile.

...But this band is still complete shit.

I saw video for this band. Mediocre at best nothing new.

I'd like to give them a karate chop to the balls. They should perhaps grow some first however.

I've only heard "I write sins not tragedies", but I like it. Like Badger said, it's just generally fun.

-Angry Lawyer

Meh. Vocalist is generic and bland, the style is nothing new. I would give them a ...

Penis/10.

On a scale from one to delicious, I give them a fantabulous!

If you've never seen Video On Trial, you won't get it.

Decent band. Nothing special, but I'll agree with Commy and Angry Lawyer, fun music, I don't mind listening to it.
