People Complaining About Cheating

What is with all the newbs who think everyone cheats? They're really obnoxious and drive me insane.

I have offered people demos, screen shots, my Steam ID, etc. But that still not enough to shut some people up.

Just because I have a better score than you doesn't mean I'm a cheater. :flame:

Because i was playing last night and while i was dead i switched to the view of one guy who i thought had an odd score, and i'm almost certain he shot someone through a wall. And i dont mean someone hiding just behind a doorway, this was striaght through the middle of a wall :hmph:

The way he was running around looked very suspect as well, he'd be running down a hallway but looking in odd directions, at the walls, at the ceiling etc.. I could be wrong but it looked to me like he knew where everyone was.

Still i didnt say anything, hopefully when VAC is re-enabled it will help things. Until then i dont realy see the point in doing anything.

If I suspect someone of cheating (and this is when it is blatantly obvious) I tell other people to spectate him, and see if they are seeing what I am seeing... I don't accuse anyone, as I know CS is the most random game ever concieved.. some people just get extremely lucky and hs constantly.

if someone is tracking an enemy through the wall, half a map away (and the enemy is crouch-walking as to be stealthy) then theres something amiss.

having said that, I have only come across 1 person cheating so far. (blatant wall hacking like I described above)

on the other hand, I have been accused of cheating plenty of times, on plenty of games (hell even CS:S and I SUCK, with a capital SUCK)

you will find most people will easily accept that you are cheating, rather than you are simply better than them... and you will also find most of those people are under 16.

however, the excellent thing about CS:S is that it has a multitude of servers... whenever one team is stacked, there are asstards, cheaters, etc... I simply change servers... it takes no effort and a lot less stressful than arguing or putting up with idiocy.


the problem with gamers is, they want to be "GOOD GAMERS" (dominate, scream PWN! and NUB!! into the mic and text), I try to be a good person (switch when teams are uneven, even if that means you are joining a losing team.. even when you are in first, having honor.. not shooting people who are obviously typing, if someone asks to play pistols... use pistols, keep swearing to a minimum etc)

I want to feel as though I not only had a good game, but others did too.... when I run into the LOLZ1!!!! PNT NUB! people, I just want to reach in to my monitor and pull the little 10 year old shits outta CS and give them the beating their daddy should have administered.

You can shoot through almost any wall in cs.

I've only come across one cheater in CS:S, I was playing havana as a terrorist, I jump out of the window on the dumpster side and hide behind it before the CT's arrive.. then.. all of the sudden, I'm getting shot in the head multiple times through the dumpster causing only 4-5 dmg every hit, so I rush out, to be met with a CT still spraying at me and I shove a shotgun in his face.

*DEAD*Cheater: "OMG HOW DID YOU SURVIVE THAT?"

Most satisfying kill in recent memory.

How about because most people cheat on CS. It will only be a matter of time for more people to cheat on CSS. You may not cheat but I can tell you I play against cheaters every friggen time I play CS.

If I am not battling un-admined servers I'm playing against people who are masters of CS. It's frustrating. If Steam had a propper ladder system and servers like battle.net I could play a great game of CS.

It doesn't help that CS hasn't changed since it was put out. It's almost the exact same game and no one needs to change tactics. More play modes would spice things up.

How about multi bomb sites. Bank robbery with hostages, T's need to get money out Ct's need to get all T's in a certain amount of time & save hosties. Different guns ?

I don't know. Cheaters love CS I have no idea why. I just found CS frustrating.

came across my first cheat yesterday. Some sort of speed cheet that allowed him to move about 4 times faster than normal. I got really fed up with the cheats on the old cs. So i really hope they can crack down on them.

There is no hack that makes it posible to shoot through walls its not posible to shoot through. (weird sentence) If he shot through it with a hack then you can shoot through it without a hack. Dont know if he was cheating or not. But iv gotten plenty insane shots through walls.

No offence, really, but that's a load of crap. :cheers: You really do need skill to get those headshots, not just luck. Sure, every now and then a player gets a lucky headshot when spraying and/or running, but a skilled player tends to stay put when firing (even when strafeshooting) and aims at the head. Luck has nothing to do with it. There are guys who are just ridiculously skilled in CS. It doesn't matter how far they are from you or whether they're even looking at your direction, they'll shoot you in the head in a split second anyway if you give them the chance. :sniper:

I was commenting on when people would consistently get hs from running and spraying, and I was speaking from experience.

I used to say that CS is all about spam (and you can very well play that way) but the more I play it, the more I like it for the mod it is.. instead of letting the "omfg it's gay ass CS" get in the way.

and yes, aiming is very effective, but only if you know how to *feel* out the aim.

its weird, especially if you come from playing another mod like TS, but Im getting used to it (and getting rather good).

This one guy threw a flashbang at me, and stood still. My crosshairs were on him when the flash went off and I got blinded. I started firing at his last position, and when the effect wore off he was dead. He asks me how I saw him through the flash, and I told him I didn't, I just shot at his last position. He tells everyone that I'm using a cheat to get around the flashbangs, then his whole team calls me a cheater.

Lesson: Don't stand still in the middle of one of the tunnels on Dust after throwing a flashbang.

I haven't been playing CS for long, but I haven't come across cheaters. However, I have come across people who gloat a little to much. Really people, gloating about how good you are in a computer game is rather pathetic. Even worse is when you mock everybody else while gloating. I have no remorse when people label other people who gloat and mock as cheaters.

A little snippet of my online gaming code of conduct:

-Never judge a player by their score.

-Hunt, devour, humiliate, and repeatedly kill all of those who gloat, brag, and demean other players or people they recently killed.

So yes, I agree with you. I don't like playing big-headed hot shots who mouth off too much and I don't like it when people throw around the accusation of cheating like a monkey throws poo whenever they're killed. I get accused of cheating way too often sometimes and it can get a little annoying. :cheers:

Ahh sorry, I misunderstood you a bit. It's true, though. It is really random when you run and/or spray (but then again I think it should be, too), although I have to say once you play long enough you sort of learn to control the spray as long as you stay still (and actually even while running, at least if the target is close). I haven't played TS myself (yet!) but yeah, I'd imagine the recoil/firing "system" in CS is quite different from what it must be in TS, actually it's probably quite different from pretty much all the other HL mods. It takes a while to get used to, but it's still quite easy to be very accurate, you just need to know how. :thumbs:

This happens quite often to me too. In matches, particularly, people often throw flashes around the corner before advancing, and very often I just let myself get flashed, wait a half a second and shoot, often resulting in kills while flashed. After a while it's surprisingly easy to predict when the enemies come around the corner. After that, though, it's often accusations after accusations... ;(

I agree with you 100%. Scores on pubs mean don't mean squat and there's pretty much nothing more annoying in CS than those idiots who think they are better than everyone else. If someone happens to kill them, they either got lucky or cheat... it's just ridiculous. But then again, most of the people doing this are probably quite young, and I suppose they just have the urge to prove themselves that they are "better" than others in at least something. I play mainly with older folks, so it isn't as big a problem for me as it is for many others. In 1.6, at least, you could ignore them completely by muting them (it ignored the text as well) but I don't think it's possible in CS:S yet, or is it? I remember trying it once, but I still saw the stuff this really annoying player wrote. If it doesn't work, I really really hope they fix it soon.

It will never change, not in CS at least. At some point (could have been as early as beta 5-8, I don't remember) everyone started to suspect everyone of cheating. Today, you can't even shoot someone without being suspected.

like most people i have been accused of cheating on CS S.
never done it, not even sure where could find the programs to do it.

on average i am not the best player, but i have my days where i am really bad, and then those wonderful days when i do amazing, and its just unfortunate that when having a good day there is always some little tosser who will accuse me of cheating.

most of the time when i am doing good is when i am running about with a p90 (which i use nearly always) and i rush into a firefight i know i can win.

i do have a small advantage at times i guess though, i have a surround sound system and i have found that expeciarly when blinded by flashbang i can sort of predict whats going on around me with occasional accuracy and of course catch the odd sod coming up behind me lol.

but mostly i end up dead.

o and in regard to annoying people on mics, i just turned it off in my options so i don't get it.

If you are on a normal CS server and you suspect a cheater, please record a demo making sure you "status" his Steam ID and post in the forums of www.thebanlist.com

The list of banned Steam IDs is actually widely used and there are more all the time. Come along and support us.

We will hopefully be expanding the use of this for other mods and CS:S at some point.

Most of the time, i ask the obvious cheaters to just leave.. they are ruining the fun for the real players.. Sometime they leave and most of the time they keep silent and keep on cheating... I havent seen that many in source, its more of a cs 1.6 thing..

Amen, except that unfortunately 90% of pubbers really can't tell the difference between a cheater and a skilled player by spectating them.

Since I suck I generally give the benefit of the doubt to anyone I suspect of being a cheater. But only the other day I joined a game with a guy who had a rather large score. I proceeded to play and he got 6 headshots in a row on me. Now he didn't even know what a nade was, he had only started playing the day before, and he said he got Cs: s off a friend and at times he was completely awful. I got his steam ID doubt I'll do anything about it.

Ill probbally get flamed but remember, VAC2 isnt active yet, (not that vac was super secure), if i constantly get owned all the time, i switch servers, there are plenty of decent games to be had, i believe it was wonker that mentioned the battlenet ranking system, kinda like how americas army keeps noobs away from pros, that would be great.

As for when people complain about you when ur doing well, it starts off being quite funny, a compliment in many ways, but when people gangup and start bitching it does get damned annoying.

I can't really speak for CS:S, because I haven't played it all that much. It doesn't run real well on my computer so I haven't done very well at it so far.

But for CS 1.6 it is very true that the majority of players can't tell the difference between a cheater and a skilled player. I would guess that about 99% of accusations are incorrect.

When I'm not playing in matches or scrims with my clan, I occasionally pub with friends or clanmates. Nearly every single time one or more of us is accused of hacking by multiple players. It's sad, really.

Just now, I was playing on a local Australian server.. The map was italy, and I wasn't even doing well I might add (about 1:1). I was using the autosniper, and as you do, I placed a few random shots around where I thought an enemy was, while I was waiting for him to pop out and fire at me again. On my very first shot, which is a total fluke, I got a headshot. I've never had that happen before with just random shooting through walls\doors, but people try those random shots all the time, hoping to get a free kill. Suddenly, because it actually worked out for a change, I'm called a cheater and have insults flung at me.

Obviously, this is CS, you can't take insults seriously, but it did put a sour note on what would otherwise have been a purely fun experience.

Cheating has definately ruined CS (and consequently CS:S), obviously by making the game less fun when you're playing against cheaters, but even more so by turning the majority of CS players into hateful, suspicious and paranoid people. Online gaming should be an entirely happy, positive experience for those involved, but sadly, cheaters have completely destroyed that for CS. If any cheaters are reading this... this is all your fault.
