I know you didn't just pick out a random word. And I know what the word means. :) spasiba. It's one of the 3 dozen words I know right now.

I just figured you copy and pasted what I put to see what it meant, and looked up the response.

of course I did ..I'm a google master :E

What does vete a la puta mierda mean anyways? It sounds like a swear word.

After I either get proficient in russian, or abandon it, i'm going to try to learn spanish next. It'll certainly be far easier for me. Not to mention it'll have more utility for me if I continue living in the states.

actually it's a number of swear words: shit and bitch ..but funny enough it doesnt mean either of them. Spanish has the most colourful way of insulting someone ..there's things my dad says when he's angry that isnt translatable in english

I didn't insult you in this thread using a foreign language, why insult me!?

I was joking man ..I was following your lead when you said "you dont deserve formality" ...well, I wasnt being formal

and it's not really bad ..spaniards use swear words like other people use slang ..it's just so common place because there's just so many swear words

it means (loosely translated)

"go to hell" ..but literally means "go to the shit bitch"

read this

..it gives you a good understand of spanish swearing ..and it uses Southpark as an example ..hehe a lot of what my father says is there

"Me cago en la madre que parió al demonio! " ..I heard that one a lot when I was young

Yeah, but mine was just a goodbye. :-P

You bastard!

Doesn't everyone swear profusely as a matter of course in Russian, as well?

I'm going to Russia in february. I used to know the Russian for 'crazy-ass foo'!'. Not anymore. :(
