I've got to say I prefered PGR2 to GT4, PGR2 was a lot more fun, the cars handled so much better, plus you didn't always get the feeling that you're going at 20mph when the speedometer says you're going 140.

Dont forget that PGR also has damage, something the bumpercar-gameplay like GT series never had .

The graphics always seem untouchable at the beginning of every console generation. I remember seeing MGS2's trailer and thinking that computers aren't going to be able to touch that for a long time.
