I wanted to know if any of you could help me out with this. I have photoshop 6.0 I was trying to use the warp text function but i cant get it to work. Every time I tried to use it i would get the message " Somthing somthing cant do this because your text is in Faux Bold (somthing like that)" I tryed doing it with just about every font I have but that makes no difference. Im not sure if im doing anything wrong or what.

highlight your text, right click on it, go down until you see faux bold with a check mark next to it, select it, then warp text, there ya go.

Hey maybe someone can help me. I just got Adobe Photoshop 7 a couple days ago so its really new to me. Anyway, how do you select a whole picture after you put text on it? Whenever I try to select the pic with text, it only copys the text part. Thanks.

when you add the text are you adding it as a second layer, if so you need to merge the layers, before you can select both the text and picture..

If you only want to select the pic, with no text, change layers to the picture layer....

If you want to select it because you want to copy the image afterwards (using ctrl-c / command-c) you can also use ctrl-shift c (or command-shift c for mac).

Ah, thanks Stone. I thought I had to combine them somehow but I didn't know how. Thanks.

Edit: Is there a difference between merge layers and flatten image?

'Merge Layers' will combine layers in different ways i.e: Merge Linked, will only combine the layer selected, and the layers linked to it. Merge up, will combine selected layer with the layer above it.

'Flatten' simply flattens all layers into 1.

I suggest understanding, and keeping your layers, when you can; they will allow you much flexibility in your design.

Ah, thanks. I have one LAST question. Sorry, I probably sound really dumb asking these but I have really no clue how this program works yet. Anyway, my last question is: Say I paste a picture with a colored box around it onto another picture. How do I take the box around it away? Like taking away the one colored background. This might sound too confusing so I'll attach an example. I did this in paint.

with the eraser and a steady and well controlled hand

or play with magic wand / select > color range / normal selection tool and del-key :p

Yeah...use the magic wand. Click on the green, then right click and select grow, or the other one next to it.
