Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest *SPOILERS*

Movie comes out in two days, anyone going to be seeing it? I thought the first one was great, though a popcorn flick, it has enough story and action to keep you occupied. Sure, it's not accurate of a Pirate's life all the time, but who cares. This movie is supposedly even longer than the first one, clocking in at 149 minutes (2 hours, 29 minutes for the simple folk). Johnny Depp rarely disappoints, Keira Knightley is a fine actress and good to look at it and Orlando Bloom keeps it fresh.

You bet your bootstraps I'll be seeing it. Pun, lmaonade.

This is one of only two films this summer I am truly, unequivacobly, pumped for.

This is indeed one of the very few movies this Summer that actually looks like its worth the price of admission. Plus I love the Monkey Island series of games and have come to terms with the fact that this is the closest I will probably ever get to a Monkey Island flick! :D

It's not very good. D:

:shh: I've seen it at work.

Worse than the first one? How much worse? Only a little means its still a great flick! :D

I'm excited. I love Johnny Depp and the first one was great.

It just doesn't live up to the hype created after the first one. It tries to do too much and feels jumbled.

It's still worth seeing though, I'm seeing it with my family and girlfriend in the enxt few weeks, so I better learn to like it.

Watching it tomorrow. From the trailer it does look like they're trying to hard though. Nonetheless, Johnny Depp is in it!

Er, where do you work? Bootlegs, plz.

But I'm going to go see it this weekend. Some friends of mine and I are going to take the 3D glasses we got from seeing Superman Returns at the IMAX, and pretend Pirates is 3D as well. Like, grabbing at the screen and recoiling a lot D:

Think i'll take the girlfriend to see it this weekend.
I enjoyed the first one alot and Johnny Depp plays his character really well.

Loved the first film, so I'm going to see this Saturday. I think. Well, I hope.

My girlfriend is really excited about it because of johnny depp...personally I didn't really like the original.

Got a terrible review in the local paper. 1 star out of 5 :(. This guy rarely hands those out, often only to Rob Schneider films too. :(. I'll still go see it though, but i hope its not as bad as that.

I'll probably wind up seeing it. It's looking better than the first anyway.

I wasn't overly impressed with the original, despite everyone raving about it. Johnny Depp will more than likely be the life and soul of the entire thing again. I can't take to Orlando Bloom or Keira Knightley.

Hoping to see it tonight!

Loved the first one and my girlfriend
a) loves Johnny Depp
b) Has seen the original ~10+ times :)

I don't understand why these movies are so popular.

QFT

To be fair I liked it a few years back when it was first released, but I was pretty naive when it came to movies back then as well.

Overrated :|

Well, I guess you guys aren't fans of Monkey Island then, huh? I have always loved pirate books, movies, games, whatever. Plus I have always wanted Depp to get his due, so its really such a great meeting of both of these worlds. Amazing stuff really.

When I was a kid, I was into cyborgs, robots and ninjas. Never cared for pirates.
Also I dunno what Monkey Island is. Sounds stupid.

Depp is great, and the movies are good, I watched them, it's just they are blown into the stratosphere with popularity because littlechickies and maybegayboys swoon over Depp and Legolas. :|

It's popular to like PotC and that kind of kills it for me. I feel like a tool at the ticket counter asking to see it because I may be the only one there interested in it's qualities as a movie rather than the fact it has pirates or a pretty boy cast.

Monkey Island is THE GREATEST ADVENTURE GAME EVER. Be silent.

I thought Mario 64 was the greatest adventure game ever. Or Ocarina of Time. Or scads of other popular games that have earned higher ratings than Monkey Island. I know I've heard of it and seen it, but I can't recall any aspect of it so it must not be that inspiring.
My video game memory is phenomenal. If I don't remember it, it is overrated. So says I.

Just back from it!!! It was excellent, a nice mix-up of action scenes and humour of course!!!

Depp is fantastic in it...Only actor that can really pull that stuff off and make Cpt. Jack Sparrow his own!

I think part of the popularity is that there also hasn't been a good pirate movie in awhile. I thoroughly enjoyed PotC. It featured Pirates, of course, humor, adventure, a love interest, and a decent plot. all add up to a fun movie experience.

Depp is god. 'nuff said. Anyone who can play Captain Jack Sparrow, that dude from Finding Neverland, Hunter S. Thompson, some freaky ass guy with scissor hands, and a cocaine dealer with equal and fantastic believability, is some kind of deity.

*Golf announcer* oooo, thats going to be a disqualification right there Bob *Golf announcer*

The movie was meh in general, probably because i've only seen the first half of the first movie, but I liked the acting.

I agree with Ennui about Depp playing Jack Sparrow, but I hate the way he runs in the movie.

Not to mention a chocolate factory owner.

I didn't like the first movie's length. If they shaved off 15-20 minutes (like the overly-long pirate ship fight) the movie would've been alot smoother. But I love anti-heroes such as Depp. And since I own Disney stock.....Go See it! ^^

I liked it. Alittle drawn out on some parts but not that many and I seriously laughed out loud more than a few times.

My rating: 8.2/10
