You know, pirates are people like you and me. Only smarter perhaps. They need a challenge, they're not ignorant and they're not malevolent. Either way, for Half-Life 2 to be a financial flop or even less than a huge success, a serious disaster would have to happen (no, source code leaks don't count, they're not serious enough in terms of customer scare-off factor).
He's drawing a parallel. Why would MS, amd or intel be able to do a better job than people who professionalize in security? 1) Where did I say that? I said they liked cracking because it's like solving a really complicated crossword puzzle. The end result is irrelevant.
2)Though I can take that as a compliment, I'm sure you intended is an insult. Therefore I'm happy to see you started the namecalling. Thread closure imminent.
