Platinum Games' VANQUISH

Godhand was mediocre and Resident Evil isn't as great as it used to be. :|

Worth noting Mikami wasn't involved in Resident Evil 5. He left Capcom after 4 which, while a change of direction, was still kind of awesome.

implying resi 5 wasn't a massive piece of ****

The game is looking so interesting. the way to produce in the video is really a amazing. i hope i will get it soon.

So apparently this is actually inspired by 70s anime Casshern. Shinji says that as development moved on, the style shifted to become more shooting than robot punching, but the overarching design philosophy is still to make it a fast-paced action game with very little "drag."

In that sense, it probably doesn't have much in common with the live-action movie. :p

It does look cool but I'm not really into score-hunting games where the entire gameplay seems to be centered around the accumulation of combos and stuff to maximize ones score.

It's more about doing something stylishly - think pulling off an awesome skateboard trick. The grade just let's you know what you already know - that you're awesome!

Wait, is the portions with the game-hud actually in-game in that vid?

The title made me believe it was all CGI..

If part of it was in-game, goddamn that looks f*cking amazing, especially given that it's a console, what with all the shit going on..

I'll definitely try the demo out if one comes.

The plot of this game is already retarded. I guess the gameplay will make up for it. It usually does with Mikami's games.

Otherwise this is going to be a Sam sandwich!

Wow, why have I never heard of this game until now? 2 videos and I'm sold.

Gary Coleman

I don't have to pay for Sega produced games due to having a family member infiltrating the organisation! tbh this isn't as good as it sounds these days - imagine free Sega games during the DC era :O - but nice when games like Bayonetta and this turn up.

Looking great. That british presenter had me chuckling the entire time. MENTAL!~

60fps?

Keep seeing the same environments in vids.
It all takes place on the same satellite, but I'm sure I've heard there will be different "feels" to other areas.

How can you desire more from that which is already perfect?
I'm just venting. You know...I've lost almost all faith in modern day gaming these days.

Anyways, as for this game, if it actually has/had the level of customization as Armored Core + up-to-date, state-of-the-art graphics + a cockpit mode + vanity mode (so I can examine my mech up close while fapping to it's awesomeness) then THAT would a perfect game. ;)

LOL, armored core sucked ass on xbox360 or ps3.

Cover mechanics. Bullet time. Knee sliding. Quicktime events.

Um, okay.

Are you some kind of idiot or what, because AC4 and 4A were great.
I just recently purchased AC4 and it is actually pretty good. Would be better if it had the aforementioned two modes I so desperately wanted the game to have.

I remember playing Armored Core 2 on the PSX back in the day and it at least had cockpit mode. (was it the only mode though? I can't remember.)

Your loss.

No one's saying it's new or innovative, but it's possible to combine existing features to create something interesting and fun. Kind of how, you know, like 90% of the games industry operates.

Also, I think you're selling the knee sliding a little short. It's ****ing jet-powered knee sliding.

Well yeah, but like I said, I don't think it looks very interesting or fun. Press X for bullet time, press Y for rip robot in half.

Yeah, games where you press buttons to do things suck.

AC4 is considered one of the worst AC games out of all aside from handheld AC games.

Perhaps, but worst = bad?

They are all awesome. AC4 doesn't have the blinding difficulty some of the older ones do, though. 4A fixed that with Occupation.

The game moves at such high speeds compared to the others, cockpit view would be hard to play with.

It's hard enough online where it's QUICK BOOST QUICK BOOST QUICK BOOST

Demo up on US marketplace.

Let me know how it is, I can't get it. :frown:
