POLL: did this last update fix your stutters?

I've only played it twice since the update, but I've had stutters both times.

But the most annoying thing is I didn't have any stutters before! I thought it might just be background tasks, so I restarted and disabled all background tasks, and it still stuttered. Can I go back to the previous patch please?

Now this is weird. Yesterday, my stuttering was cured. Then I turn on the game today and find that it is as bad as it's ever been?

WHY, VALVE, WHY?

There have been no changes to Steam or and Steam games since yesterday. It is your computer acting up.

AMD Athlon 2400
ATi Radeon 9600Xt 256MB
Kingston 256MB PC2700 RAM
WesternDigital 80GB (8MB) HDD
Gigabyte GA-7VA MoBo

Any got suggestions as to why this is

My guess would be u only have 256MB Ram. Thats pretty much bare minimum, also Gigabyte MotherBoard's are pretty bad for bottlenecking. Check your bios settings, make sure SMART is on, and settings are on Optimised, rather than Stability. Check your L2 cache is enabled too.

Also, (and apologies if u have already) get a good soundcard. The AC97 built in standard are good, but lack the power. Try a live! 5.1, audigy or audigy 2.

For some of the people i've talked to, it is.
