Portal Border Textures

Hello peoples um I need help.
The textures for the borders of the portals is supposed to look like this:

However they look like this:

Its not gamebreaking but its annoying me so can anyone tell me how to change the textures for the borders of the portals

I suppose you tried messing with Video Settings, right ? Also, do you use Direct x 8 or 9 ?

Yes ive tried messing with the vid settings to correct this I use direct x 8

There should be Portal Depth in video settings and it must be set to 1 or high. Also you have to run the game on DX 9+.

My Software DX says its 9 but my hardware says its 8
