This is the positive thread, where we talk about how things are going great in our lives.

Surrounded as we are by the sinking economy and other such worries, I thought we needed a little dose of optimism, so I'll start.

I watched the fireworks. I just finished the latest book by R. Scott Bakker. I ate barbecue chicken and corn on the cob on my front lawn. A girl and I realized we had separated over a stupid misunderstanding, and got back together. And I just saw Dog Soldiers for the first time. Everything's turnin' up Thunderclap.

I'm feelin' pretty awesome. Anyone else? Spread the happiness, y'know? Don't be a combo-breaker.

ETA: The sliced banana in my breakfeast cereal tasted unusually fresh.

I got a $1.15/hr raise at work. I'm pretty happy about that.
 
Recently got a $1.00 raise at work here.
It's summer, so work is really slow and I just surf the net all day..
Buying a hole bunch of RX-7/RX-8/Rotary books that discuss the cars/engine in deep technicalities..That will keep me busy for months
Girlfriend and I are doing great
 
I'm working again, and I love my job. Getting paid for something you enjoy doing is the best.
 
Had a great 4th, got to spend time with a girl who means a lot to me. Doing alright in my summer class and generally having a great time with friends while I'm home for the summer.
 
My guitar is coming in this week. :D
 
HL2: Wars is back on track and development is motoring away at a steady pace again (which is a great thing, although has its downsides as well because I stress myself out a lot over the design). I have awesome friends who I've been hanging out with all summer, and in less than a month I move into my new apartment with two kickass roommates.
 
The thing I ordered is arriving soon.

I'm totally broke until Wednesday to the point where I can't cover my bills. Oh and a girl I love is flaky as hell forcing me to move on.

Oh wait...happy thoughts. Okay...

On Wednesday's check it will be my first check after getting my promotion, which comes out to about a $6 an hour raise (hells yeah!). And even though its probably over with the girl I love I got a back up girl that isn't all that bad whom Im going out with now.

So shit isn't all that bad I guess, could be a lot worse.
 
Finished reading the Count of Monte Cristo a few days ago. Awesome book. It has inspired me to read the D'artagnan Romances.

Girlfriend and I are going strong, and my sax skills has been coming along.

Went over my friend's house yesterday, played with fireworks, stayed up till 5 am, and then he let me borrow Bioshock. Wow. That was fun as hell.
 
Smoked up last night, getting my rent sorted out today and tomorrow, got noticeably better at bass, started getting noticeably less depressed. It's been a good day.
 
I'm almost done reading my drivers ed book, so I'll be able to get my learner's this week, and I'm going out to get a scooter for my first vehicle. $5 of gas to fill the tank and it gets 91MPG, score.

Yeah. Even if there are no windows, doors, sewers or ventilation systems, he'll still find a way in/out. :p
 
whats positive about my life??

-working full time with full benefits and more holiday pay
-getting more quarterly bonuses
-credit card debt free
-my car still works
-will have 2 new family members soon, one in oct, the other in february
-don't have AIDS
-don't have any STDS
-i get to see free movies every week with my friend, so i'm saving hundreds of dollars a year
-girls at work do things to me spontaneously :naughty:
 
- Me and my best friend of 7 years decided to take it to the next level almost a month ago. I know people say best friends shouldn't be bf/gf n all that, but its been an amazing month, hopefully many more to come :)
- Got a job with decent pay
- My cars running great
- I know it doesnt sound like a positive but I've played a LOT less games lately
- Sex. ;)

- Got standard issue 2:1 in English Language and Literature.
- Can claim job seeker's allowance starting this month (Mooch Mooch Mooch).
- Resurrected old PC /plays emulators on the downstairs TV.
- Weather good.
- Televised Wimbledon allowed me to be vaguely knowledgeable about sport for three days.
 
I achieved an A in Literature, an A in Sociology, and a B in History.
I was accepted at University.
I got a job.
 
My first year uni results are good
Art is going great
I've caught up with some old friends who I've missed :D
I've been playing way too much Red Alert 2 and it still rocks
I'm going to St Petersburg for 2 weeks on Thursday

Literature degree I assume? Definitely somewhere good with those grades :) Anyway, well done.

There hasn't been a results thread this year?
