Post a screenshot!

I didn't dislike GTA's car mechanics, but the minute you got a bike or even in a air vehicle the controls fell apart for me. SD's driving model may not be realistic but I can make the vehicles do what I want them to do which comes in especially handy in side quests that involve winning races. In any other open world game I avoid these like the plaque because they just aren't fun to do.

Speaking of driving, here's a load of DiRT 2 screenies, starting with the murder of Dave Mirra (****er needs to learn to keep his mouth shut mid race). IMO all Codemasters racers since GRiD still hold up great visually. Which makes it even more of a bitch that GRiD 2 won't have cockpit view.

What? This doesn't make any sense, isn't GRiD supposed to be a realistic racing game?
Yep, or at least semi-simulation, but Codemasters have cut the cockpit cam. They're citing... well, they've been pretty inconsistent in their reasoning. They claim their metrics show that only 5% of people use in-car cam, but in different statements they've used both dev resources and hardware burden as the main excuse, respectively. Dev resources is self explanatory - lots of interiors to model. But the hardware burden thing is a bit of a head scratcher; they claim that what they're doing with the race engine is so mind blowing that hardware (read 'consoles') won't be able to handle the extra rendering of car interiors on top of it.

Just sounds to me like they're half-assing the whole thing, with the faint air of half-assedness that made DiRT Showdown feel like a half-assed waste of ass, and which made DiRT 3 and the F1 games feel a little wobbly. Very sad because I loved the shit out of GRiD and I'm a recent convert to cockpit view. Check out that windscreen splash screenie in 5th gear, those moments are the business.

Got a bunch of GTA 4 PC screens.

And I also bought the Trine deal from steam today. I only have one screen of it (sorry), but my god is this game ****ing gorgeous. It looks incredible. Every level is pretty much as beautiful as this. I was playing local coop with my girlfriend, she used my PC XBOX controller and I used mouse and keyboard. It's a fun coop game. This is Trine 1. Once this is beat we're going through Trine 2 and the DLC for it (Goblin Dungeon or something, can't remember the name).

Definitely worth the less than ten bucks I payed for it. Trine 1 is like three bucks, Trine 2 is like four maybe. Go pick this shit up, now!

I also bought some horror game that's all pixelated called "home" for about 4 bucks too. Will post screens when I start that.

Is Magnusson the casserole scientist? I would have put him as the "Gordon doesn't need to hear all this" guy because that's who they based his personality on according to the commentary, but the scientist in that screenshot clearly isn't Magnusson. To quote Darkside "****ing Slick."

I've not come across Magnusson but the Barney in the room says you'd better split like an item when you use the microwave. Love the fact that Kleiner and Eli are the scientists you meet before the lift to the test chamber. Also, if they didn't manage to get the same voice artists for Barney and Kleiner then they get a bloody good impersonator.

Dark Souls on PC. I've got the 60FPS patch and the Resolution Fix mod. Jesus is this game pretty. I'm having a blast with it as well. I play with a 360 PC controller just to have the original experience with it as well :)

****. This mission went very, very wrong. I ended with two characters with one bar of health and one (Wolverine) incapacitated who would have died if I didn't manage to kill the last guy with a lucky pistol shot. And thats after reviving two people and using every heal I had.

The gaming thread on another forum I go to is OBSESSED with XCOM, is it really THAT good?

Also how is Far Cry 3, stemot?

I'm really enjoying it. Plenty to do, good hunting/crafting system, fantastic visuals and seems to run quite well on Ultra (minus the AA) on my midrange system. I found the first Far Cry frustrating due to having no real feedback on getting noticed by the enemy as I'd be hidden one minute then they'd know exactly where I was the next. The second game was ruined for me by the enemy checkpoint spawns every time you left an area as well as the degrading weapons. The 3rd game fixes all of this and so far I'm Having a blast.

Oh, and XCOM is also a fantastic game.

It's been in open beta for a little while now. I didn't like it much from what I played.

The Skull helmet that comes with the Slingshot DLC is ****ing great!

This is the best I've ever done in FTL. I'm at the last sector here.

I got annihilated by the last boss.

Oh Christ when I'm able to build a decent PC (how many years have I been saying that sentence?) I'm so looking forward to running Dolphin.

I still won't play Skyward with Dolphin because I'd still need an IR transmitter and receiver and to get out of my chair to play. Yeah, no.

GTX560 i5, Overclocked 2500K 3.9ghz, 8gb Ram. Not that great.

All you need is a WiiMote Plus ($60), wireless receiver ($20), Bluetooth Dongle ($10) and a chair because you do not need to hop out of it to play. They have the WiiMote Plus produce all the movement by the motion alone, the IR is only used to determine the position of the TV to your position. I can literally play with my WiiMote under my computer desk and then occasionally point it at the IR to recalibrate. But I usually push my chair back a metre, works really well.

This goes for all Nintendo WiiMote Plus games, all others, yeah, you need to stand a minimum two metres back.

Thats pretty cool that all he needs to do is spend $90 to play one game.

You can use candles as the IR bar. Just put one tealight on the right of your TV and one on the left.

I already own a Wii, so transferring all I had to computer was easy. It's a price to pay to play the best zelda.
