How do I earn combat points? I'm now a PFC, I've still only got the same medals, I've got some teamwork points but no combat points at all. I've only spent about 2 and a half hours on ranked servers but I'm like 40,000th in the world for teamwork (you think that's bad :p) yet I'm like 600,000th in the world in combat with 0 points?? So far I've got two gold stars, a silver star, a bronze star and a basic medic combat award.
 
just got the basic medic award, sadly it hasnt shown up in my medals list, either has my stats from that server.;(

Yea, i have no idea. I got it after i got killed on the peninsula map. It says to anyone killed, but that has obviously happened to everyone so that makes no sense and i was thinkin you have to die a certain amount of times but i havent played that much yet and that wouldnt make it an "outstanding" achievement...

EDIT: OK, i looked it up an i have died 215 times...maybe it comes after 200???
 
Why would they reward you for dying? They really need to include better descriptions of how you earn the awards.

If they did people would just consentrate on earning the medal instead of playing the game. Also, I have died over 500 times and I have not recieved the purple heart.
 
You get the purple heart by getting "oustanding combat rating," just like the description says. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean really.

Probably just a good K:D ratio
 
My original thought was that it said you have to die with a soldier from an opposing force. Though, I've died in explosions with many enemies and I haven't been awarded it.
 
I have killed 50 guys and died 0 times before, I don't think the K: D ratio matters.
 
I haven't checked if it's shown up yet, but I got my Basic Armor last night, while taking my striker behind enemy lines (that was some excellent teamplay that night. We'd pull up right outside an outpost in our vehicle, our squad leader, a anti-tank, would go in first and blast all the tanks out, clearing the way for me, a medic, and another guy, another anti-tank. Then i'd do rounds reviving people who wen't solo in the area, or hold back at the striker and set up ambulance). Also got my Basic Chopper award thanks to my excellent pilot last night.

Us going behind enemy lines for some missile practice :naughty:

You shoul've seen this guy dodging missiles. Didn't even need chafs allot of the time.
 
Got a quite a few awards now, even though it takes ages to get a slot in ranked server, after my first game in one I won't play anywhere else! ;P

So far -

-Basic Assault Combat (I think it's called that?)
-Basic Medic Combat
-Basic Anti-Tank Combat
-6x Gold Stars
-2x Silver Stars
-4x Bronze stars

I've only just become a PFC, so I'm about 1/8 of the way to Lance Corporal. I don't ever remember playing such a good game in ages.
 
Gah! I can't get a fricking gold medal. Everytime I get a really high score, the commander's x2 multiplier beats me by 2 or 3 points.

-4x Silver Medal
-2x Bronze Medal
-Basic Combat: Medic, Assault, Anti-tank, Specops.
-That one airborne where all you have to do is fly a plane really high and parachute out.
 
Oh, and a little update on the purple heart. My friend was playing today at my house. He got a purple heart all of a sudden. His kill-death was 5-21. He had the most deaths, and barely the least kills.

I wonder if it's anything like Enemy Territory "battle sense", where you would get points for killing while wounded.

I just got it again and the way i got it doesnt help at all. I had full health, and i was on a ledge and killed a gunner in a jeep, then when he died it said i was awarded a purple heart...
 
IGN's medal list says the purple heart requires outstanding combat rating.

Does anyone know if you can qualify for a medal over time or do you have to meet its requirements in a single game?
 
I know most medals, specifically the Basic Combat badges for each kit, must be done in a single round, which isn't very hard, because you just need 10 kills per kit, and those kills can be achieved through any means. For example, I was an Engineer on Dragon Valley trying to earn my Basic Combat medal, and I killed nearly 20 guys with the Blackhawk's turrets thanks to an awesome pilot and grabbed my badge within 10 minutes of joining the server.
 
Was curious why I hadn't got the purple heart, guess I don't suck.

Really? The first medal I got was an Airborne Ribbon, which I got in the first 30 mins of playing.
 
Do you just parachute a lot to get "Parachute Qualification: Good" (the criteria for the Airborne ribbon, according to IGN)... or do you have to parachute well (what that would entail, I have no idea)?
 
How to get airborne ribbion in exactly 30 seconds:

Fly plane, very high.

Parachute out.

Wait a few seconds.

Get ribbon.

Celebrate.

really?, awesome. I probably would not have done this so I appreciate the tip.
 
Hehe. That's how I got it. My squad leader had us spawning on him, and he would fly his blackhawk extremely high over opposing flags. We'd jump out and chute down to right outside the flags, then take them over without anybody knowing, and low and behold, right when I hit the ground on my second run, it said I got my airborn ribbon :cheers: .
 
Oh, I've got an update about some things I found out while playing with foxtrot a minute ago:

1) Basic Knife Combat requires 7 knife kills in one round.
2) Basic Pistol Combat requires 7 pistol kills in one round.
3) Basic Explosive Ordinance: Foxtrot said he got like 12 kills with C4 in one round while we were playing without getting this award... so, it's either a lot of C4 kills or it only counts grenades.
 
Just out of curiousity how many points are needed to get to Lance Corporal? 1000 would be my guess, I'm on 723 right now.

When i type in a letter on that site it auto backspaces it....

Type your name in the "Nick" box, not the Player ID box.
 
So, you only need 7 kills with both the knife and any pistol for he awards?

I got the knife and pistol awards, but even after killing 15 people with grenades in one round, I did not recieve explosive ordinance, perhaps its the m203.

as a side note I am now going to use my pistol a hell of a lot more, killing with it is easy even at extreme range.
 
I just looked through the world stats again, they've actually been updated now, and Foxtrot is the 20th best Anti-Tank soldier in the world right now! ;) Go Foxtrot :p
