Never! CRT's are sexy.

And you can really hurt somebody with one.

If somebody breaks into your house and crashes through your door to attack you, and you have nothing to reach for but your monitor... are they going to be fazed and injured by your 1 pound flat screen monitor?

No... chuck that 50 pound CRT at them and watch them become one with the earth.

The CRT is so sturdy that you could probably plug it right back in and use it afterwards too!

Sadly it was a gift. But it plays the tune of 'You are my Sunshine', so perhaps you can make your own? That goes for all of you. Your quad-cores are useless without Flower Power.
