^ Meant to comment a while ago, very cool, awesome work with the piano/organ things. Starts to drone on a bit but yeah it's perfect background music.

Right, I started this thread... but I've not been able to record any music for absolutely ages for technical reasons, but tonight I managed to sort everything out so I can record again!

Here is the first thing I've recorded in absolutely ages, I'm still very out of practice on the guitar too, but if anyone is kind enough to check out 'Dan's Back!' here:

that shit is banging dan, loving the licks. it reminded me of the guitar playing on the radio in apocalypse now.

New tracks from our recordings in Leeds are appearing, expect ones to appear over the next few months, Howler is the new one, the other two are old ones, which will be replaced very soon with more up-to-date recordings.

Just made my own myspace music page. These are all live jazz performances. "All Blues" is my own written arrangement of the famous Miles Davis tune. You can't really hear the bass, and I botch my sound when the two horns come in, so don't dismiss it right when you hear it. All of them feature improvised solos by me. Keep an ear out for that tenor saxophone player (that's me). Or not, if you don't want to listen. That's cool too. Listen to "Blues and the Abstract Truth" by Oliver Nelson first.

edit: "All Blues" is the jazz combo I play in, and the other 3 tunes are performed by the Central Washington University jazz band II.

I liked parts of that track very much too! Harij, I'm curious how it would sound with a couple of changes. Please could you do a mixdown with the distorted synth taken out of the intro and have the overlaid snare come in 3-6dB lower than it does (keep the vol as it is for the busier parts of the track - it's well balanced here). Maybe boost the highs around 4kHz by a little on the break too?

Three tracks and that.

This first one's a redo of my track Drive, which I re-did with my brother, The Blizzard.

Currently it's on his myspace, here. It's the first track.

Then there's two other tracks, nOtch and Clamp. Both of them are WIP's, and not especially serious, mostly me making entertaining tracks for my own enjoyment.

Neptune, I really liked that - the lo-fi vibe to it was nice, and the ending was excellent. I'd love to hear a new version of that with a cleaned up bass line.

The songs I've listened to all have a really soundscape-ish quality. That layer of white noise (signal noise) just adds to it. Nice stuff.

Thanks for listening man! Yea the white noise/static was intentional and only featured in the top 2 tracks.

It's got synth shit in it too, so I can use my keyboard as a keyboard.. I don't even need to buy a synthesizer anymore! Hurray!

I was recording myself improvise (I need to work on my improv, lol), if anyone wants to use any part of this for anything, go for it, but most of it is unusable garbage. I just figured that since I recorded it, someone may get some use out of it. I won't be able to remember how I played anything either, so don't ask for a cleaner version, like I said I improvised, so I don't remember how I played anything.. I might be able to figure out some stuff, but for the most part, nope.

the release for my album went tits up, and since winter's ending soon, and it being winter themed and all, gives me no reason to hold onto it anymore. enjoy!

As I was working, I couldn't properly listen to all the songs, but 'Vodka Keeps Me Warm' was very enjoyable! Will be keeping hold of these tracks. What went wrong with the launch?
