Post your latest music tracks/WIP's and comment!

Here's a couple songs I made a while back and just polished up a little to share.

You might notice a little Metroid inspired droning in Nowhere.

Rusty Pistol Jam plays next - it's inspired by The Sex Pistols.

I still have some older songs on the playlist too. (160kbps)

I just got a new loop pedal.. Just tested it out and it's awesome. My random improvised song in C.

Now the reason this recording is shitty (my playing, not the quality, which is also shit), is because the only way I can record is if I hear nothing.. So I'm winging it hoping I'm on time and in the right place, I got a 2 sided 1/8'' cable going form the headphone jack on my amp to my mic jack on my PC.. Until I can get a board + monitor, my recordings are all like that.. I hear nothing until after it's done. This is why I don't record often.

neptune, Shot a Man Down reminds me of Portishead a little bit, minus the female vocals obviously. I'm liking the other stuff too. Cool mix between techno and acoustic; diggin' that.

And...

My band just released two new demos free for download. We are particularly proud of these demos even though they are just live recordings.

This is definitely for the alternative rock/noise rock/indie rock crowd. If you dig anything from The Pixies to Joy Division to Franz Ferdinand to The White Stripes, check us out.

The band's name is Tony Smokes & The Ladykillers just so you don't forget. If you like what you hear, you can buy our first full-length album here: http://www.bullmoose.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=258&upc=BULL-1645487

Updated that shit

Happier with it now :D

I'd be grateful to hear anyone's thoughts/crits about this track.
The one thing that bugs me is that the melodies (especially the pads) we're pretty lazily thrown together so it might sound odd at times...

Me and my mate started an experimental musical project that accidently turned into a band: 'Electric Funeral'

We're working on an album we plan to release for free titled 'Do Not Resuscitate'
Tracks, live videos n pics. add us plx????? Or in Soviet Myspace BAND ADDS YOU.

After a rather zealous review, and some uncalled for threats involving certain images of me in uncommon attire, I have decided to remaster and post this track. I hope you enjoy it!

There was a different version of that track? I don't remember hearing anything like it...

But man, well done. Instantly my favorite of your tracks. The rhythms, sounds, and overall arrangement are just great. You could even add more to it. Some soft yet glitchy pads for a bit of melody perhaps? Also are there any particular artists that influenced you or sound similar to that track?

Your use of strange samples is very impressive!
The guitar riff felt like it was building to something a bit more thrashy, which didn't ever happen. Very nice, otherwise. MySpace's 96 kbps music player doesn't help things when it comes to mixdown advice, though.

In other news, I finished this one and this one.

Fancypants

Diggin the drums/percussion a lot more than the synths tbh, at least in the first half.

My current work in progress is

I Want The Sky

I finally like the drums in something I've made, but I'm not sure about anything else in the song...

Hmm, my only complaint is that while the percussion has the right sound and tone, the pattern is just annoying to me. It sounds way too robotic and stiff for an acoustic kit. Specifically the hat.

Damn is that your voice? Is that whole song just you? I'm jealous if that's your voice. Only complaint is that there is some kind of static in the guitar track. And the whistling part is a bit loud and clipping in parts. lol at the "whoops"

Funnily enough this is my first real attempt at vocals in a track. It's a cover of These Open Fields by The Flashbulb. Made in Reason, vocals recorded in Goldwave and imported to a sampler in Reason.

Getting the mix even this listenable was a pain in the ass. /me awaits Viper bitching

Also funny is that the chord progression is almost the same as yours in the beginning :p

I'm pretty sure my voice is utter shit. And on top of that I couldn't sing very loud in my room as everyone was sleeping.

Original song you can find on Youtube, I'm not gonna link to it because you can't without fecking embedding, and if you spoiler it it ****s up the post.

I just realized I forgot to do a little intro thingy like in the original track. I had intended to. D'oh.

Also shit I never posted this, remix of That's Not My Name by The Ting Tings: http://s202353582.onlinehome.us/thatsnotmyremix.mp3

Everything there was done by me yes. The guitar does sound quite shitty mostly due to the fact that I have a very, very cheap amp. Like something you buy a 10-year old who is learning to play. The whistling I got a little too close to the mic.

Best to wait then. If you try to sing while restricting your air to lower the volume it doesn't turn out well. Same with sitting down. I did that fro this recording and it really strains your voice.

Tired

Probably the longest thing I've created, as I'm still (steadily) learning how to use reason. This was the result from playing around with the subtractor, trying to learn what all the different dials and buttons meant. I made it into a track in about 20-30 mins, so it's rather repetitive (nothing new about house music) and not the best in quality. I sort of had in mind it representing waking up in the middle of night, when compiling, hence why I called it tired. Though this representation is very loose.

**** off, give a newbie a break (I used a subtractor anyway).

The intro seemed to drag a bit and was too experimental for my taste, however when it gets going with that madass drum beat it starts to own. Some kickass drum beats there.
Overall, I enjoyed the track but I felt a couple of parts dragged on a little much which made it seem a little long in total.
PS - I totally dig the ****ed up synths.
