Also, I'm suggesting everyone include the "hl2net" tag so we can search for the creatures made by people here.

Right now only the trial version is available, so when the full is available on the 17th (preordered mine for download from ea.com) all my creatures will be updated if there's any better looking parts if I need to.

There doesn't happen to be a Mac version of the trial floating about, does there? I'm suddenly very interested in this game.
 
Not officially but yeah. It all works: Sporepedia, uploading ceatures, making movies, etc It isn't the full editor; that will be available by paid download starting the 17th.

Just my first two from screwing around. First one I ended up having the head facing the wrong way so it had to walk backwards everywhere - would like to see how spore handles those kinds of wacky things in-game.

Oh and the auto-upload video's to youtube is going to be nuts, there are going to be so many vid's up there.
 
Liking the HL creatures. Downloading now, should keep me happy for a few hours or so.

I'll post my Screenys when I'm done.

Does anybody else's game take a while to connect to the server?

Damn, why hell did they have to be owned by EA? Their master servers are horse shit if the BF series are anything to go by.

Also, does anybody else get an incredibly irritating buzzing noise whenever it's generating stuff?
 
Question, where are you downloading this? Everywhere I look says it's not available until the 17th.

So wait... you have the buy the creature creator? How much does it cost? Damn EA.
 
It costs 10 bucks, but you get that much off as discount of you choose to buy the
game. At least trough EA downloader, I don't know about retail. See it as pre ordering,
except you get something.

Anyway don't be a vagina, just wait for the torrent.

No, this is the trial version and it's free, although limited. If you buy the editor, you get all the creature options. The demo has about 25%.

No, you only have to buy the creature editor if you want the full creature editor before release, the full creature editor is free with the full version of Spore.
 
For some reason, my creatures aren't being uploaded to the sporepedia. Plus, despite the fact that I saved them and side bar on the load menu says I have 2 creatures, I can't see any of them, and therefor can't load them.

Just made this guy, isn't he adorable?

The only thing I don't really like is the backbone system, it's weird... you can't really twist it and all that stuff.
Very rigid.
 
I just downloaded the trial, but I cannot seem to find it on my C drive anywhere.
anybody know its location?

I'll go rip apart all my drives again.
 
Yeah I was a bit dissappointed by the spinal-system.
 
Crap, the registration screen doesn't display properly because I have my Unicode regional settings set to Japanese, and I need my Windows CD to switch back. Would someone mind posting a screenie of the registration fields page (no details entered of course) so I can at least figure out what to put in each field?
