Having the same problem, but I suspect it's because I'm not registered (hint hint, to any good samaritan, screenie of reg screen...)
 
Im registered and it didnt save.

EDIT: Although I seem to be having connection problems at the moment, so maybe that has something to do with it.


This is what my screen looks like. It says I have two characters, but then it doesnt show them.

I was playing in offline mode and it saved my creatures just fine...

Heres my first little guy, didnt put much thought into him originally, just plonked stuff everywhere. But hes kind of cute and I like him.

I've made like 10 more since then, I also made a strider which i recorded doing actions and I'm gona stick sounds to its movements :D.

Can you make creatures fly in the full version? Cause Lucid that thing looks like it should fly, not have 2 feet :D

As far as I can tell, you can make them fly, you just remove the feet... but it's weird.

Also, Wuvwoo is covered in singular feathers not wings. :p
I think I'll see if I can make her fly though.

edit : Meh, she glides along the ground... but I made an animated gif of her doing a flip without legs. :D

Still can't figure out why the hell the game's making a buzzing noise whenever I have the foresty background on.
edit 2 : Fixed the sound bug, sound quality was on low by default. :p
 
I was going to make a Pikachu, but I couldn't due to the creator having limited factors for such a creation.

I'll try on the full version though later this month.

I have no clue...they are supposed to be clones of the main one. Perhaps a birth defect.

edit : Oh shit, I found an easter egg.

In the menu, where you see the galaxy.
Spin the galaxy with your right mouse button, just spin it in the direction that the swirls are going.

You'll shit bricks when you see it.

edit 2 : God damn it, that irritating as **** buzzing noise is back.
 
Anyone know of a way to recover saved creatures? I made this cool one and lost it before i could take a pic:(
Also how do you upload to that spore thingy
 
Here's mine, not as good as my first one. Has big spiky balls so he has no weakness now.

To upload you need to register and then go to 'share' on the Sporepedia as far as I know. Mind taking a screenie of the registration page and posting it for me when you do? :cheese:

I've had the vanishing creatures bug too, which was a shame because my first creature - a big upright hopping turd with wings - looked pretty humourous. My second creature saved fine though and I can load it no prob. I went for something tall and long legged but didn't think too hard about features, here's a vid:

Krynn, Penguin and whoever else is having the problem - I figured out how to recover the saved creatures that don't show!

go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Spore Creations\Creatures, move the PNG file out of that directory, then back. your creature should then show up under 'Everything' (not 'My Creatures'). To prove it here's the Turdmonster I lost and found:
